Objective: to observe on the effect of applying SCD irritability anti-thrombus pump and Nadroparin Calcium Injection to prevent deep vein thrombus (DVT) in patients underwent total hip replacement. Method: a total of 160 patients who would be undergoing unilateral artificial total hip replacement were divided into 4 groups randomly, that was blank control group, SCD group, Nadroparin Calcium Injection group and combination of SCD and Nadroparin Calcium Injection group. The countermeasures were started on the first day after operation for 7 days. All patients were checked via ultrasound Doppler to confirm if he had got deep vein thrombus on the eighth day after operation. Result: the incidences of DVT in each group patients were 37.5%, 15.0%, 20.0% and 5.0% respectively. Among them, a case of blank control group developed pulmonary embolism. There were significant differences between these groups (χ 2 test,P<0.05). Conclusion: it is effective to decrease the incidence of DVT for patients undergoing total hip replacement by using either SCD or Nadroparin Calcium Injection only. However the efficiency would be improved much better by combining SCD and Nadroparin Calcium Injection.
