In recent years the multi-agent based distributed intelligent software systems are successfully applied to numerous fields. According to the fact that the existing power quality monitoring system cannot monitor and control the power quality for widely distributed electrified railway by real-time way, a distributed power quality monitoring and control system based on multi-agent technology is put forward. In this system the feature that the power quality monitoring and control devices are distributively configured is considered and by means of intercoordination among all power quality agents the task of power quality monitoring and control is accomplished. The architecture of these power quality agents and the intercoordination among them are analyzed. Based on the control task, the structure of common object request broker architecture (CORBA) and the communication of multi-agents are described.
