The authors collected 31 research reports investigated Chinese middle school students＇ psychological problems which with SCL-90 as a tool. Then they meta-analyzed those articles and found： 1. Compared with the norm of middle school students＇, the average effect sizes ranged from 0.44 to -0.15, which indicated that the exiting reports did not mean Chinese middle school students had serious psychological problems. 2. The year-of-publication effect and quality-rank effect were significant, whose R2 were 0. 266 and 0. 197. 3. The significant year-of-publication effect indicated that scores of SCL-90 mlght have a tendency to increase, but the reason was unknown.
