AIM： To explore the current condition of mental health of rehabilitation physician.
METHODS： Thirty-three physicians from one provincial level rehabilitative hospital were selected from July to October 2005 and investigated with symptom checklist-90 （SCL-90） composed of 90 items such as somatization, obsession-compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, psychoticism 9 factors, in which the 5-grading system was adopted （the higher the scores, the more severe the symptoms）. After informed the evaluation methods and requirements before evaluation, the subjects were investigated independently. The evaluated time was limited in recent 1 week. The scores of each factor were calculated by turns and compared with the national norm.
RESULTS： The scores of hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, psychoticism of the subjects were similar to the national norm （t=1.289- 1.341, P 〉 0.05）, and the scores of somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, obsession-compulsion, depression and anxiety factors were higher than national norm （t=2.268-3.167, P 〈 0.01）.
CONCLUSION： The mental health of the rehabilitation physicians is influenced by the internal and outside factors; they need mental supports from subject construction, hospital manager and the physician themselves.
