Objective To investigate the immune level of Japanese encephalitis（JE） in pigs and workers at 4 pig farms, and to provide scientifical evidences for prevention and controll the Japanese encephalitis. Methods Serum IgG antibody of pigs and IgM antibody of workers on 4 pig farms was tested by ELISA. Results Epidemiological survey including 1 318 pigs and 132 workers was undertaken during March to September 2005. The total positive rates of JE IgG antibody of pigs were 37.1%.There were significient different positive rates in year old, 39.4% of 1 month old pigs, 46.3% of the 3 month old pigs, 39.5% of the 5 month old pigs and 30.3% of over 6 month old pigs respoctively. The positive rate of 1 month old pigs （52.3%） in July was higher than that of in June（46.3%）, while 3 month old pigs （74.7%） and 5 month old pigs （43.5%） were higher in June. IgM antibody of works was negative at farms. Conclusion The natural JE infection in pigs have occurred, it is possible to spread the JE virus in the natural environment in Zhuhai, It is necessary to prevent and control the Japanese encephalitis.
