The radical scavenging activities and the polysaccharide of several kinds of edible fungi were determined. The results showed that the content of polysaccharide of different kinds of edible fungi was different, that the content of polysaccharide of Tricholoma Lobynsis and Auricularia auricular were higher than those of the others, with the percentage of 10.01% and 8. 96% respectively. A DPPH--TLC and DPPH--Mcroplate assay was made to determine the free radical scavenging activities of methanol extracts from different kinds of edible fungi. The results revealed that the extracts of Agrocybe chaxinggu, Lentinusedodes, Clitocybe maxima and ammulina velutipes （Fr.） Sing have strong free radical scavenging capacity, at the concentration of 5.0 mg/ml they can respectively decrease 97.6 percent, 96.9 percent, 95. 8 percent and 59.66 percent 0.4 mg/ml DPPH radicals after incubated at 37℃ for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the DPPH--TLC assays showed that the components of extracts from different samples were different.
