[ Objective ] The technique of the indirect measurement of the nitrogen oxides （NOx） in the mainstream of cigarette smoking with the method of flow injection chemiluminescence was investigated. [Method] Firstly, the NOx was reacted with NaOH for the quantitative for- mation nitrite（ NO2- ）, which was reacted with hydrogen peroxide（ H2O2 ） in acidic condition and then the product from the reaction could act with Luminol to generate strong chemiluminescence signal. Finally, the content of the NOx in the mainstream of cigarette smoking could be cal- culated according to the intensity tested with the method of flow injection chemiluminescence. [ Results] The chemiluminescence analysis sys- tem of the Luminol-H2O2 in the measurement of the NOx in the mainstream of cigarette smoking would be established, and the technical index was the concentration of H2O2 was 1.0 × 10^-3g,/ml, sulfuric acid was 0.01 mol/L, the Luminol was 1.0×10^-3 mol/L and NaOH with the concentration of 0.10 mol/L was prepared as light-generating solution, under which technical condition, the detection limit was 1.2×10^-5g/L （3o） ,the relative standard deviation was less than 3.00%. The analysis result indicated that the content of NOx in flue-cured tobacco was lower than that in the mixed tobacco in general, which was matched with low content of nitrite in its cigarette. [ Conclusion] This method was suitable for the quantitative analysis of NOx in the mainstream of cizarette smoking.
