Objective： To study the change of T helper cell I（Thl）FFh2 and its clinical significance after drug therapy in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura （ITP）. Methods： Thl/Th2 cell and levels of cytokines in 60 patients with ITP before and after treatment and 60 healthy donors were determined by flow cytometry. Results： Thl cytokine interleukin（IL）-2 and interferon（IFN）-＇y increased significantly in patients effectively treated than that before treatment and the control group（P〈0.01）, while the Th2 cytokine IL-4 and IL-10 had no significant change （P〉0.05）. The ratio of Thl and Th2 was increased. IL-2 and IFN-γ in highly effective group were higher than that in moderately effective group, and that in moderately effectively group was higher than that in not effective group （P〈0.05）. Correlation analysis showed that efficacy of therapy was positively correlated with the level of IL-2 and IFN-γ. Conclusions： IL-2 and IFN-γ increased significantly after effective treatment, and there was a significant correlation between Thl cells and efficacy of treatment.
