Based on a walking beam reheating furnace, the mathematical model of slab and its sup- porting skid was built. The time varying of temperature map of slab and skid under difference conditions was simulated and calculated by using the finite difference method. The influences of the skid structure, the time of slab after passing water beam dislocation point on the black imprint temperature difference were analyzed. The simulation results provided the basis for estimating the black imprint temperature difference simplified algorithm by using on-line mode. At the same time, based on strict control of black imprint tem- perature difference, the reheating time and oxidation loss of steel were reduced, the energy saving effect was obvious.
