Malaria was one of the three major infectious diseases needing special prevention and control in the millennium development goals of United Nations（UN）, which had great influence in the national economy and people＇s health. It had a long history for traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） in preventing and treating malaria, and the treating advantages were outstanding. TCM practitioners in different dynasties constantly summed up experience and updated their concepts of treatment, resulting in the cognition of diversification for malaria. The cognition of TCM practitioners in different dynasties was deeply explored to expand clinical horizon and enrich treating means, which would provide a significant reference for the modern prevention and treatment of malaria.
