Objective： This article aims to evaluate the effect of the phase of massage therapy treatment on Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of nerve root type cervical spondylosis. Methods： This trial was designed as a randomized controlled trial and carried out in The First Teaching Hospital Affiliated to Tianjin University of TCM. Eighty cases were from Tuina department outpatient,The First Teaching Hospital Affiliated to Tianjin University of TCM,who were diagnosed as Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of nerve root type cervical spondylosis（ CSR）. Eighty participants were included and randomly divided into two groups,an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was treated by the phase of treatment and the control group with the traditional massage method. To verify the effect of two groups, neck disability index（ NDI）,visual analogue scale（ VAS） before treatment,on the 7th,15 th,25th day of treatment. And the CT values were compared after the treatment. Results： The total effective rate of experimental group was 100% and the healing rate was 97. 44%. The total effective rate of control group was 97. 30% and the healing rate was 72. 97%. The experimental group was better than the control group（ P〈0. 01）. After treatment, the VAS and NDI scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment and the CT values of the nerve roots were significantly decreased and the experimental group was better than the control group（ P〈0. 05）. Conclusion： The phase of massage therapy treatment has better effect than the traditional massage method in the treatment of Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of nerve root type cervical spondylosis（ CSR）.
