The types and contents of volatile organic pollutants of some sewage treatment plants along the Qian Tang River were studied. Select the 10 sewage treatment plant, using the method of GC-MS analysis of volatile organic compounds, the results show that the detection of VOCs type of halogenated hydrocarbons, benzene, chlorobenzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, including 20 kinds in inlets as well as 11 in outlets, different sewage treatment plant, not at the same time, the number of species and concentration of VOCs is different, but majority of concentration at a low level; VOCs in inlets is mainly composed of halohydrocarbons, benzene, and VOCs in outlets is mainly composed of halogenated hydrocarbons, the highest detection rate in outlets is chloroform,1,2-two dichloroethane,and dichloromethane; the total VOCs effluent removal rate in most plants over 77%; the sewage treatment process not only reduces some halocarbons, also produce some substances.
