Objective： To discuss the clinical effect of pedicled fat flap plugging on retroperitoneal laparoscopic unroofed decompression of renal cysts. Methods： 72 patients undergoing surgical treatment of renal cysts in our hospital were randomized into the treatment group and control group with 36 cases each. Patients in the treatment group adopted pedicled fat plugging by retroperitoneal laparoscopic unroofed decompression, while patients in the control group adopted laparoscopy to treat renal cysts. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications, hospital stay and postoperative relapse in both groups were recorded. Results： There were no statistical differences as for the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stays for both groups （P〉0.05） ; but the occurrence of complications and relapse rate of the control group after operations were significantly higher than those of the treatment group, which were of statistical differences （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： Performing pedicled fat flap plugging by retroperitoneal laparoscopic unroofed decompression of renal cysts may effectively reduce the occurrence of complications and the postopenative relapse rate.
