Objective To evaluate the pharmacological toxicological safety index of heterotypic Schisandra Schisandra extract from the experimental study of long toxicity in rats. Method The test rats were randomly divided into three drug dose groups： high, medium and low, and a blank control group. The drug dose group was administered according to the total concentration of the three components of the active ingredient of Kadsura heteroclita extract. After 3 months of continuous administration, the basic conditions of the animals, blood routine, liver and kidney function, blood sugar and blood lipids, blood coagulation index, organ index and pathological examination were examined, and the recovery of each index one and a half months after stopping the drug was observed. Result In the middle and late stages of administration,no toxic symptoms and various indicators of experimental rats were found in the middle and low drug dose groups.The high-dose drug groups found a slight increase in liver and adrenal weight,and pathological slices showed that liver cell particles were thickened. However, the above indexes were normal during the recovery period after withdrawal, and there was no significant difference compared with the blank control group. Conclusion The longtoxicity test of the total Kadsura heteroclita extract on the test animals, the safety of the drug within the therapeutic dose range, has further prospects for further development.
