Reliability is an important factor in market competitiveness of the agricultural equipment. To eliminate the early failures and improve the reliability of agricultural equipment, the general model of eliminating early failures for agricultural equipment is proposed in this paper. Firstly, Weibull two-fold mixture model is chose to establish the bathtub curve model of agricultural equipment, and division between early failure phase and normal operation phase is identified. Secondly, the formation of early failures and mechanism of early failures elimination are studied, and a model of eliminating early failures for agricultural equipment is established, with some detailed process and implementation of reliability analysis layer, reliability test layer and early failures elimination layer. Finally, an example of small-scale combine harvester is shown to illustrate the applicability and validity of the model.
