Polarization curve and corrosion mass loss curve of carbon steel No. 20 in circulating water were tested by rotating cylindrical electrode method at different flow velocities. Influences of corrosion behavior and related mechanisms were analyzed under different flow velocities( 0. 3,0. 5,0. 8,1. 0 m/s). Corrosion morphology of specimen surface was observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy( SEM). The results showed that flow velocity of circulating water played an important role for corrosion behavior of carbon steel,flow velocity of 0. 5 m/s marked the sudden change point of corrosion rate for carbon steel No. 20 under this system.
