Objective To observe the effects of three-edged needle scattered needling and plum blossom needle tapping on related electroneuromyographic indicators in cervical spondylotic radiculopathy of qi stagnation and blood stasis type.Method Sixty patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy of qi stagnation and blood stasis type were randomized to three-edged needle and plum blossom needle groups, with 30 cases in each group. The three-edged needle group received three-edged needle scattered needling and the plum blossom needle group, plum blossom needle tapping.Sensory nerve conduction velocities, motor nerve conduction velocities, latent periods and evoked potential amplitudes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Result There were no statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in sensory nerve conduction velocity, motor nerve conduction velocity, latent period and evoked potential amplitude in the two groups(P>0.05).There were no statistically significant posttreatment differences in sensory nerve conduction velocity, motor nerve conduction velocity, latent period and evoked potential amplitude between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Both three-edged needle scattered needling and plum blossom needle tapping cannot improve the functions of the injured nerves with no significant differences between the two treatments.
