It has always been the core of the curriculum reform of econometrics to cultivate students’ ability to solve practical economic problems. Combining with the practical needs of the cultivation of applied talents, this paper analyzed the shortcomings in the teaching of econometrics in the past, and put forward the “chain-driven” teaching reform, which included emphasizing the core quality of statistics, constructing the main line of chain-driven course, reorganizing the teaching content of education, perfecting the evaluation methods and so on. After more than two years of teaching reform practice, good results had been achieved, and students’ comprehensive practical ability and scientific research quality had been significantly improved.
