With the rapid development of China’s economy and industrial production, the treatment of coking wastewater has attracted much attention. Coking wastewater is produced in the process of high temperature distillation of coal and purification of coal. It has high toxicity, unstable nature, complex composition, great pollution to the environment and is very difficult to degrade. The discharge of coking wastewater has a great impact on agricultural production, which is not conducive to the development of agriculture in China.How to solve the problem of coking wastewater is imminent. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of biological, chemical,physicochemical and recycling methods for coking wastewater treatment and related research progress are introduced and analyzed.
