In this paper, the key parameters affecting mechanical sealing performance of heavy water reactor fuel handling systemare analyzed. The paper mainly analyzes the relationship between the thickness of the liquid film and the opening force of the mechanical seal end surface, the influence of the taper on the sealing performance. The final analysis shows that the mechanical seal end surface opening force and liquid film thickness are not enough, the liquid film thickness is thin and the liquid film is unstable so that the sealing end surface has a mixed friction contact state, the sealing torque increased and the leakage rate too low. Combined with the analysis results, a pair of mechanical seal Rotor seal surface was repaired, increasing the cone angle of Rotor seal surface. The tests results show that the torque and leakage rate of are good and achieved the expected goal.The results of this study have certain popularization value.
