As the fast development of science and technology, the environmental pollution has become increasingly serious. Novel carbon nitrile/polypyrrole composite catalysts were prepared, and the structures of the new obtained catalysts were characterized by FT-IR and SEM. The optical properties were investigated by UV-Vis DRS. In addition, Rhodamine B was used as a virtual pollution to evaluate the photocatalytic activity. The results showed that the carbon nitrile/polypyrrole composite photocatalysts had high catalytic activity for dye Rhodamine B, and the pohocatalytic activity reached the highest as the content of polypyrrole was 1wt%. Moreover, PL spectra further confirmed that the introduction of polypyrrole can effectively reduce the electron hole complex, which can significantly improve the photocatalytic efficiency of the composite catalysts.
