This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system for ecological environment based on the pressure-state-response(PSR) framework model, discusses the coupling coordination of ecological environment pressure, state and response subsystem of various provinces and cities in the Yangtze River economic belt from 2010 to 2016, and empirically analyzes the significance and difference of the factors affecting the coordination degree by using the panel econometric model. The results show that:(1) From the perspective of provinces and cities, the degree of coupling shows an overall fluctuating upward tendency in other provinces and cities while a decline in Shanghai;the coupling type is mainly in the running-in stage and the high coupling stage;the coordinated developments in most provinces and cities also show a rise in volatility, except for Shanghai and Yunnan, and the coordinated development level is mainly concentrated in the moderate coordination category.(2) From the perspective of various regions, the coordinated development presents the spatial characteristics of the central region is larger than the eastern region than the western region.(3)From the perspective of the region as a whole, the degree of coupling and coordination development shows a fluctuating upward trend, the main constraints of coordinated development are ecological environment response and pressure level, and the ecological environment response and ecological environment pressure are the main constraints for coordinated development.
