摘要 像许多人一样,我们需要自问:说实在的,幻想有什么用呢?毕竟,我们知道,幻想的定义是不真实,或者至多也是极其不切实际,以至于濒于不可能。穿越时空、让人许愿的妖怪、在室中飞舞的猫,所有这些都只是浪费时间面已。描写现实的小说或者计算机手册则具有实在的价值:这些是实用的。 Many children these days are guided to read non-fiction and other'useful'books.Dr.Allison’s essay argues for the opposite by demonstrating the many ways in which Fantasy literature not only develops imagination but helps with many aspects of cognitive development in children.She uses examples from many classic and contemporary books such as Haroun and the Sea of Stories,the Harry Potter novels,and Dr.Seuss.
