This paper presents a wideband variable gain amplifier(VGA) featuring a decibel-linear gain control characteristic. The decibel-linear gain control function is realized using two VGA cells and a control signal converter. The bandwidth is extended by using cascode architecture together with active inductive load. To achieve small parasitic and low area,direct current(DC) coupling is adopted in the circuit while a DC offset cancellation(DCOC) circuit is introduced to cancel the DC offset. Fabricated in a 0.18 μm complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) process, the chip occupies an area of 0.53 mm×0.48 mm(including pads) and draws a total current of 9 mA from a 1.8 V supply. The measurement results show that the gain of the VGA varies from-40 dB to 18 dB while the control voltage varies from 0 to 1.8 V, resulting in a total gain control range of 58 dB. The 3 dB bandwidth of the VGA is larger than 260 MHz at maximum gain. 展开更多

We report a high-performance active image sensor pixel design by utilizing amorphous-indium-gallium-zinc-oxide(aIGZO) thin-film transistors(TFTs) with a circular structure. The TFT, configured with the inner electrode as source and outer electrode as drain, typically exhibits good saturation electrical characteristics, where the device has a constant drive current despite variations in drain voltage. Due to the very high output resistance exhibited by this asymmetric TFT structure with a circular shape, the pixel circuit considered here in common-drain configuration provides a higher gain of operation than a pixel circuit implemented with rectangular a-IGZO TFTs. They can be used as driving TFTs in active image sensor circuits. They are, therefore,good candidates for digital X-ray detectors in applications such as medical diagnostic procedures. 展开更多

Er3+-Tm3+-Pr3+triply-doped graphene-glass-graphene(GGG) nanosheet waveguide amplifier, which is a promising candidate for integrated photonic devices, is modelled and numerically analyzed. The designed waveguide is composed of a triply-doped tellurite glass core. The core is sandwiched between two graphene layers.The rate and power propagation equations of a heterogeneous multi-level laser medium are set up and solved numerically to study the effects of waveguide length and active ion concentrations on amplifier performance at five different input signal wavelengths(1.310, 1.470, 1.530, 1.600 and 1.650 μm). The analytical results show that rareearth ion dopant concentrations at an order of 1026 ion/m3, waveguide length at 0.1 m and pump power at 100 m W can amplify 1.530 and 1.600 μm input signals with 1 μW power up to approximately 20.0 and 24.0 dB respectively.Finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) simulation results show that mode field radius of GGG waveguide is smaller than that of silicon waveguide. Consequently, GGG waveguide with the same pump and signal power and the same gain-medium length can produce higher gain than silicon waveguide. 展开更多

In this study, some properties of a novel Halanay-type inequality that simultaneously contains impulses and delayed impulses are investigated. Two concepts with respect to average impulsive gain are proposed to describe hybrid impulsive strength and hybrid delayed impulsive strength. Then, using the obtained results, two stability criteria are derived for the linear systems with impulses and delayed impulses.It is found that the stability of impulsive systems is robust with respect to delayed impulses of which the magnitude strength is relatively small. Whereas, if the impulse strength is small, the time-delayed impulses can also promote the stability of unstable systems. Two numerical examples are employed to illustrate the efficiency of our results. 展开更多

既往社会困境的研究表明,人们能够做出牺牲个人利益而维护他人或集体利益的亲社会合作行为,且这种合作行为表现出一定的直觉自动性特点。然而,既往研究中的社会困境往往置于正向的收益情境中,本研究在经典公共物品困境与公共资源困境的... 既往社会困境的研究表明,人们能够做出牺牲个人利益而维护他人或集体利益的亲社会合作行为,且这种合作行为表现出一定的直觉自动性特点。然而,既往研究中的社会困境往往置于正向的收益情境中,本研究在经典公共物品困境与公共资源困境的基础上,通过操纵个体利益与集体利益冲突标的的效价,设置出损失情境下的公共物品困境与公共资源困境,系统探究了个体在损失情境下社会困境中的亲社会合作行为及其特点。结果发现,即使是在损失情境下的社会困境任务中,被试依然表现出了较高的合作行为水平,但较收益情境下合作水平略低;此外,损失情境下的合作行为同样表现出直觉自动性的特点。本研究为社会困境中合作行为的广泛存在及其直觉自动性特点提供了新的证据。 展开更多

This paper addresses the problem of intelligent power management for the more electric aircraft framework. The main objective is to regulate the power flow between a low voltage and a high voltage busses through control of a Buck-Boost converter unit. This approach allows the battery to help the generator when an overload scenario occurs, keeping at the same time the battery state of charge above a prescribed threshold. Moreover, in case a continued severe overload causes the battery state of charge to drop below a prescribed threshold, partial shedding of(noncritical) loads occurs. The control objectives are achieved through the design of a hierarchical control strategy based on high gain control for the low level and a finite state automaton for the high level control. Rigorous mathematical proofs of stability are provided for both low level and high level control and a detailed simulator with accurate model of the battery is presented in order to demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

基于VHF频段射电天文干涉阵列的天线,研究地网以及不同环境对天线辐射特性包括增益、方向图、谐振点等参数的影响。结果表明,无地网条件下,天线在干燥土壤和沙地的增益分别是3.06dB和1.44dB,且存在明显的旁瓣和后瓣;天线在潮湿土壤和沙... 基于VHF频段射电天文干涉阵列的天线,研究地网以及不同环境对天线辐射特性包括增益、方向图、谐振点等参数的影响。结果表明,无地网条件下,天线在干燥土壤和沙地的增益分别是3.06dB和1.44dB,且存在明显的旁瓣和后瓣;天线在潮湿土壤和沙地的增益分别是4.33dB和4.25dB。增加地网后,天线在干燥土壤和沙地的增益分别是4.87dB和4.97dB,潮湿土壤和沙地分别是4.39dB和4.40dB,方向图不存在明显的后瓣和旁瓣,谐振点稳定在27.0MHz和69.5MHz处,且在此之间的频段上,驻波比均满足银河噪声限制条件。由此可以得出结论:在干燥土壤和沙地上铺设地网时,VHF天线性能最好,噪声最低,这对大规模的VHF天线阵列的基础构建环境选择至关重要。 展开更多

A novel lateral Ge/Si avalanche photodiode without a charge region is investigated herein using device physical simulation.High field is provided by the band-gap barrier and build-in field at the Ge/Si interface in the vertical direction.Modulating the Si mesa thickness (0-0.4μm)and impurity concentration of the intrinsic Si substrate (1×10^16-4×10^16cm-3)strengthens the electric field confinement in the substrate region and provides a high avalanche multiplication in the Si region.When the Si mesa thickness is 0.3μm,and the impurity concentration of the Si substrate is 2× 10^16cm-3,the Lateral Avalanche PhotoDiode (LAPD)exhibits a peak gain of 246 under 1.55μm incident light power of -22.2dBm,which increases with decreasing light intensity. 展开更多

A Port-stream Based Equation Oriented Modelling of Complex Distillation Column: A Dividing Wall Column Case Study 预览

Dividing wall column (DWC) offers higher degree of freedom in comparison with the conventional column. Furthermore, the different sections configurations within the column are highly interacting with several recycle loops. Facing with such complex unit operation, describing its behaviour encourages the focal point on the resolution of ideal modelling approaches. Equation oriented (EO) modelling of DWC has been studied by several researchers involving complex algorithm and methodology. In this work, a new approach for modelling of DWC is presented. The modelling methodology involves variables connectivity based on ports and streams that is admissible to equation-oriented flow sheet. To verify the functionality of the proposed method, the modelled DWC is validated with two case studies depicted from experimental literature data to separate alcohol mixture and fatty acid fractionation. The model development was performed in MOSAIC, a web-based modelling tool and run in gPROMS. The model shows good convergence and has less than 10% error when compared to the abovementioned case studies. To furthermore extend the model capability, relative gain array (RGA) analysis was conducted for the fatty acid fractionation to determine the best control configuration in DWC. Result shows that L-S-V and L-S-B configurations are the best control configurations. Our analysis also shows that reflux flowrate, side flowrate and vapor boilup are best to control distillate product, side product and bottom product respectively. 展开更多

Fluoride-based thulium-doped visible light fiber amplifier(TmVLFA), which can be used to amplify the blue light signal for a visible light communication(VLC) system,is theoretically demonstrated for the first time according to the best of our knowledge. The transition rate equations and power propagation equations are solved to predict the dependence of the gain and noise figure on fiber parameters. The numerical results show that with the pump wavelength 1150 nm and pump power 800 mW, 2.75 m long thulium-doped fiber can amplify blue light(480 nm) signal up to 33.3 dB, and the noise figure is in the range from 3.0 to 3.5 dB. The model and numerical results encourage the use of fiber amplifier in VLC system for blue light amplification to extend the range of VLC. 展开更多
