The highest power achi... We present a single-longitudinal-mode continuous-wave Ho3+:YVO4 laser at 2.05 μm pumped by a Tm-doped fibre laser. Use of a cavity etalon enables spectral selectivity for single-mode operation. The highest power achieved in the single longitudinal mode at 2052.5 nm is 282 mW at a slope efficiency of 6.9%, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 3.0%. These features demonstrate that this single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YVO4 laser is suitable for use as a seed laser in some Lidar systems(e.g., coherent Lidar or differential absorption Lidar). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on such a single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YVO4 laser at 2.05 μm. 展开更多

We demonstrated a Kerr-lens mode-locked polycrystalline Cr:ZnS laser pumped by a narrow-linewidth linearpolarised monolithic Er:YAG nonplanar ring oscillator operated at 1645 nm. With a 5-mm-thick sapphire plate for intracavity dispersion compensation, a compact and stable Kerr-lens mode-locking operation was realised. The oscillator delivered 125-fs pulses at 2347 nm with an average power of 80 m W. Owing to the special polycrystalline structure of the Cr:ZnS crystal, the second to fourth harmonic generation was observed by random quasi-phase-matching. 展开更多

We present a Tm-doped fiber laser pumped Fabry-Perot etalons Ho:YAG laser based on a corner cube.A maximum single-longitudinal-mode and fundamental transverse mode output power of 478 mW at the waveiength of 2091.06 nm is achieved with a pump power of 16.3 W,corresponding to an opticai-to-optical efficiency of 2.9%and a slope efficiency of 7.9%.The single-longitudinal-mode and fundamental transverse mode are less sensitive to the rotating of the corner cube.The results indicate the potential impact of a single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YAG laser with corner cube geometry to improve the anti-maladjustment stability. 展开更多

During the PQS regime, a maximum total output pulse energy of 3.3 m J is obtained under an absorbed pump pulse energy of 21.9 m J. Up to 400 μJ single-pulse energy is realized with the shortest pulse width of 6.16 ns and a pulse repetition frequency of 34.1 k Hz,corresponding to a peak power of 64.9 k W. The high-energy laser pulse is operated in the dual wavelengths of 1319 and 1338 nm, which is a potential laser source for THz generation. 展开更多

We demonstrate a compact periodically poled MgO-doped lithium niobate(MgO:PPLN)-based optical parametric oscillator(OPO) quasi-synchronously pumped by a fiber laser system with burst-mode operation.The pump source is a peak-power-selectable pulse-multiplied picosecond Yb fiber laser.The chirped pulses from a figure of eight-cavity modelocked fiber laser seed are narrowed to a duration of less than 50 ps using an FBG reflector and a circulator.The narrowed pulses are directed to pass through a pulse multiplier and to form pulse bunches,each of which is composed of 13 subpulses.The obtained pulse bunches are amplified by two-stage fiber pre-amplifiers:one-stage is core-pumped and the other is cladding-pumped.A fiberized acousto-optic modulator is inserted to control the pulse repetition rate(PRR) of the pulse bunches before they are power-amplified in the final amplifier stage with a large mode area(LMA) PM Yb-doped fiber.The maximum average powers from the final amplifier are 85 W,60 W,and 45 W,respectively,corresponding to the PRR of2.72 MHz,1.36 MHz,and 0.68 MHz.The amplified pulses are directed to pump an MgO:PPLN-based optical parametric oscillator(OPO).A maximum peak power at 3.45 μm is obtained approximately to be 8.4 kW.Detailed performance characteristics are presented. 展开更多

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a multi-wavelength thulium-doped fiber(TDF) laser based on all-fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer(MZI) at 1.9 mm. Here a segment of 4 m single-mode TDF is pumped by 1568 nm fiber laser for 2 mm band optical gain. The MZI includes two cascaded 3 d B coupler. A segment of 3.5 m long un-pumped polarization-maintaining TDF and polarization controller(PC) are joined in the ring cavity to suppress the mode competition. Multi-wavelength lasers at 1.9 mm with wavelength number from one to four are obtained by adjusting the PC and the stability of output power of multi-wavelength fiber laser is analyzed. 展开更多

In this letter, we report a Ho:YVO4 laser pumped by a 1.94-μm laser in both continuous-wave(CW)and Q-switched modes. The output performance of the Ho:YVO4 laser is compared with different output coupler transmissions. By use of the output coupler transmissions of T =30%, we obtain the maximum CW output power of 3.9 W at 2052 nm, with beam quality factor of M2=1.09 for the absorbed pump power of 12.5 W. For the Q-switched mode, we achieve maximum output energy per pulse of 0.38 mJ and the minimum pulse width of 25 ns, corresponding to the peak power of 15.2 kW. 展开更多

The spectral width (20 dB) extends from 0.47 to 1.67 μm. In the optimal configuration, an ultraflat (3 dB) spectrum from 500 to 1 000 nm is achieved. 展开更多
