Isotope analysis of nitrate pollution sources in groundwater of Dong'e geohydrological unit 预览

As nitrate pollution in groundwater has become increasingly serious in recent years, nitrogen isotope was adopted in this paper to define its sources in a typical agricultural area of Dong5e hydrogeological unit. The results show that: Higher content of NO3^- detected in shallow groundwater is 27.77 mg/L on average and δ^15N content ranges from 7.8‰ to 12 ‰, indicating that shallow groundwater is mainly contaminated by sewage or feces. In contrast, less NO3^- in deep groundwater (karst water) has an average value of 12.81 mg/L and δ^15N content is between 7.2‰ and 14.3‰, which is closely related to human disturbance as mentioned above. In addition, considering relatively low groundwater quality at some monitoring sites, reasonable fertilization is a better choice in the study area to reduce nitrate source in groundwater. 展开更多

Teachers are the obligatory ingredients in enhancing the effective learning process at university through their keen potential for quality of teaching, research, and management. The faculty of agricultural universities in Pakistan is striving for productive agriculture education and research. Teachers possessing prevailing sense of self-efficacy are intrinsically motivated and additionally challenge themselves by multifarious tasks. The study was conducted to observe the self-efficacy levels of agricultural universities teachers at Faisalabad and Rawalpindi with respect to three particular domains named as teaching, research, and management. Stratified random sampling technique was used. From target population four strata, i.e., professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and lecturers were considered. As a result, 100 (59%) teachers from University of Agriculture Faisalabad and 67 (40.1%) teachers from PirMehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi participated in the study as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire as an instrument of research. Pilot study was done on a sample of 24 teachers. Data were analyzed by using t-test and ANOVA test. High level of efficacy in terms of teaching, research, and management was found;teachers were fully confident in their beliefs to accomplish intended tasks. Teachers having less administrative tasks reported better performance in related tasks. 展开更多

Agriculture practices have been widely proposed as the major cause of amphibian population decline.However,the majority of these results have been based on laboratory experiments.The present study was conducted to test the repercussion of wetland sediment provenance on amphibian larval development.Bufo bufo larvae were used in two different treatments in an outdoor experiment,the first one using sediment from one wetland surrounded by intensive agricultural practices,and the second using sediment with no record of agrochemical uses.A negative effect was observed in the agricultural treatment,from subcellular to individual level.The results showed that the sediment from agricultural practices watershed generates a reduction in survival.Furthermore,individuals that developed under this treatment showed a lower total length and a delay in the time necessary to complete metamorphosis;these features are connected with recruitment success.In the same way,biochemical analysis showed high values of lipid peroxidation in metamorphs developing in sediments from an agricultural area.Finally,the results obtained highlight the importance of considering the sediments,not only the water,as origin treatment,allowing us to understand the consequences on amphibian populations that inhabit areas affected by intensive agriculture. 展开更多

Driving Force of China’s Agricultural Exports to Japan 预览

The export status to Japan is directly related to the overall trend of China’s agricultural exports. Based on the HS9-coded agricultural product trade data of the Japanese Ministry of Finance in 2001-2017,using the ternary marginal analysis method,the driving force of China’s agricultural exports to Japan was analyzed in this paper from a static and dynamic perspective. The results showed that 98. 89% of the driving force of China’s agricultural exports to Japan was from the contribution of quantity margin. The contribution of the extensive margin had been decreasing year by year after 2006,and it has been negative for many years. The reason was that technical barriers such as the Positive List System lead to less export of agricultural product in varieties and types. The average marginal contribution rate of price was 8. 26%. The average price of exported agricultural products has been basically higher than the world average level since 2013,suggesting that the quality of exported agricultural products has been improved. While maintaining the quantity of agricultural exports,improving the quality of agricultural products,expanding export varieties and increasing export value added are the sources of sustainable growth of China’s agricultural exports in the future. 展开更多

In order to provide a scientific basis for the utilization of cassava alcohol fermentation mash and the high-yield and high-efficiency cultivation of cassava,compound microbial inoculum was inoculated into the cassava alcohol fermentation mash to prepare bacterial manure,which was then applied to two cassava varieties,Nanzhi 199 and SC 205 to explore the optimum application amount,application method and application concentration. The results showed that when the inoculation amount of the compound microbial inoculum was 2‰ of the mass of the mash,the requirements of industrial production of liquid bacterial manure and agricultural application can be met,saving costs. After the emergence of cassava seedlings,if they were drenched with the bacterial manure of cassava alcohol fermentation mash through roots once according to the amount of 67. 5 t/ha and irrigated with the bacterial manure once every 15 d under drought conditions,both the yield and quality of cassava can be improved significantly. The yield and starch content of Nanzhi 199 reached 26 196. 23 kg/ha and 30. 32%,36. 57% and4. 75 percentage points higher than those of CK. The yield and starch content of SC 205 reached 41 126. 06 kg/ha and 23. 74%,99. 25% and3. 19 percentage points higher than those of CK. Under the application modes of foliar spray,root irrigation and foliar spray + root irrigation,the fertilization effect was more obvious. When undiluted bacterial manure of cassava alcohol fermentation mash was applied according to the amount of 52. 5 t/( ha·time),the fertilization effect of the application mode of foliar spray + root irrigation was the best. The bacterial manure from cassava alcohol fermentation mash can be directly applied without dilution,and the fertilizer efficiency will be reduced significantly after dilution. 展开更多

Changes in fungal community and diversity in strawberry rhizosphere soil after 12 years in the greenhouse 预览

In agricultural production, long-term monoculture and continuous cropping lead to changes in fungal community diversity. However, the effects of long-term monoculture and continuous cropping on strawberry plant health and fungal community diversity have not been elucidated. In this study, using high-throughput sequencing(HTS), we compared the fungal community and diversity of strawberry rhizosphere soil after various durations of continuous cropping(0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 years). The results showed that soil fungal diversity increased with consecutive cropping years. Specifically, the soil-borne disease pathogens Fusarium and Guehomyces were significantly increased after strawberry continuous cropping, and the abundance of nematicidal(Arthrobotrys) fungi decreased from the fourth year of continuous cropping. The results of correlation analysis suggest that these three genera might be key fungi that contribute to the changes in soil properties that occur during continuous cropping. In addition, physicochemical property analysis showed that the soil nutrient content began to decline after the fourth year of continuous cropping. Spearman’s correlation analysis showed that soil pH, available potassium(AK) and ammonium nitrogen(NH4+-N) were the most important edaphic factors leading to contrasting beneficial and pathogenic associations across consecutive strawberry cropping systems. 展开更多

Besides,with flexible operation mechanism and sensitive market perception,small agricultural enterprises have also enriched the reform achievements,improved the market structure and promoted economic development. Therefore,attaching great importance to small agricultural enterprises and supporting their healthy development have become the key tasks of each country. However,at the current stage,small agricultural enterprises in China are facing tremendous survival pressure. Because their capital is limited,the capital turnover is difficult. In this situation,financing has become an important means for small agricultural enterprises to revitalize the capital chain,expand the scale,and ensure normal operation.Compared with large and medium sized enterprises,small agricultural enterprises are small in size,imperfect in operation system,and weak in the ability of coping with market risks. Thus,commercial banks take on more risks when lending to small agricultural enterprises. To cater to state policies,commercial banks have to lend to small agricultural enterprises. In this process,it is particularly important for commercial banks to control risks. Taking some commercial banks in Xiangyang City of Hubei Province as an example,this paper analyzed the loan contracts provided by commercial banks for small agricultural enterprises and the investigation of financial status and credit status of loans before and after lending. It is found that commercial banks seldom check the financial statements when checking the operation status of small agricultural enterprises. They just check electricity fees,water fees,and wages,which are real-time and provided by the authority to accurately grasp the operation conditions. Based on the MODIS NDVI data and Landsat TM/ETM data of 2002 and 2012, this paper extracts the planting area of winter wheat–summer maize, single spring maize, cotton and forest/fruit trees, vegetable and paddy, and made the agricultural land use map of the North China Plain(NCP). Agricultural land use area accounted for 63.32% compared to the total area of the NCP in 2002. And it increased to 65.66% in 2012, which mainly caused by the vegetables and forest/fruit trees increasing. Planting areas of winter wheat–summer maize, cotton, single spring maize, forest/fruit trees, vegetables and paddy were 5031.21×10~3, 865.90×10~3, 1226.10×10~3, 1271.17×10~3, 648.02×10~3, 216.51×10~3 ha in 2012. Rank of changes was: vegetables(+45%) > forest/fruit trees(+27.4%) > paddy(–23.7%) > cotton(–20.4%) > single spring maize(+17.3%) > winter wheat–summer maize(–0.6%). In developed region like Beijing and Tianjin, planting area of crops with high economic benefit(such as fruit trees and vegetables) increased significantly. Government policies for groundwater protection caused obvious decline of winter wheat cultivation in Hebei Province. Cotton planting in Shandong Province decreased more than 200,000 ha during 2002–2012. The data products will be published in the website: http://hydro.sjziam.ac.cn/Default.aspx. Aflatoxin is the most powerful carcinogen and highly toxic mycotoxin known in nature. It can cause serious toxin pollution to agricultural products, foods and fodders, and is extremely harmful to human and animal health. For aflatoxin pollution, the emphasis is on the control of source, and biological control is favored by scientists because of its advantages of environmental protection and ecological safety. According to the morphology, color and appearance of microbial colonies isolated from maize kernels, 300 bacterial strains were obtained from main maize-producing areas including Tangshan City, Handan City, Shijiazhuang City and Cangzhou City. Two biocontrol bacterial strains (B120 and B65) having a strong control effect on aflatoxins were screened. After identification by molecular biology and physical and chemical properties, the two biocontrol bacterial strains were identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens . Their effects on spore germination, mycelial growth and toxin degradation of Aspergillus flavus were investigated. The results showed that strains B120 and B65 could significantly inhibit the spore germination and mycelial growth of A. flavus and reduce aflatoxin production.
