Amygdala-Inspired Affective Computing: to Realize Personalized Intracranial Emotions with Accurately Observed External Emotions 预览

Artificial intelligence technology has revolutionized every industry and trade in recent years. However, its own development is encountering bottlenecks that it is unable to implement empathy with human emotions. So affective computing is getting more attention from researchers. In this paper, we propose an amygdala-inspired affective computing framework to realize the recognition of all kinds of human personalized emotions. Similar to the amygdala, the instantaneous emergency emotion is first computed more quickly in a low-redundancy convolutional neural network compressed by pruning and weight sharing with hashing trick. Then, the real-time process emotion is identified more accurately by the memory level neural networks, which is good at handling time-related signals. Finally, the intracranial emotion is recognized in personalized hidden Markov models. We demonstrate on Facial Expression of Emotion Dataset and the recognition accuracy of external emotions(including the emergency emotion and the process emotion) reached 85.72%. And the experimental results proved that the personalized affective model can generate desired intracranial emotions as expected. 展开更多

While the incidence and mortality of gastric cancer (GC) have declined due to public health programs, it remains the third deadliest cancer worldwide. For patients with early disease, innovative endoscopic and complex surgical techniques have improved survival. However, for patients with advanced disease, there are limited treatment options and survival remains poor. Therefore, there is an urgent need for more effective therapies. Since novel therapies require extensive preclinical testing prior to human trials, it is important to identify methods to expedite this process. Traditional cancer models are restricted by the inability to accurately recapitulate the primary human tumor, exorbitant costs, and the requirement for extended periods of development time. An emerging in vitro model to study human disease is the patient-derived organoid, which is a three-dimensional system created from fresh surgical or biopsy tissues of a patient’s gastric tumor. Organoids are cultured in plastic wells and suspended in a gelatinous matrix, providing a substrate for extension and growth in all dimensions. They are rapid-growing and highly representative of the molecular landscape, histology, and morphology of the various subtypes of GC. Organoids uniquely model tumor initiation and growth, including steps taken by normal stomach cells to transform into invasive, intestinal-type tumor cells. Additionally, they provide ample material for biobanking and screening novel therapies. Lastly, organoids are a promising model for personalized therapy and warrant further investigation in drug sensitivity studies for GC patients. 展开更多

目的探讨个体化护理对小针刀治疗第三腰椎横突综合征疗效的影响。方法将2018年9月至2019年3月我院门诊收治小针刀治疗第三腰椎横突综合征患者72例,随机分为对照组36例和观察组36例,对照组给予脊柱骨二科常规护理,实验组给予个体化护理,... 目的探讨个体化护理对小针刀治疗第三腰椎横突综合征疗效的影响。方法将2018年9月至2019年3月我院门诊收治小针刀治疗第三腰椎横突综合征患者72例,随机分为对照组36例和观察组36例,对照组给予脊柱骨二科常规护理,实验组给予个体化护理,干预12天后观察,比较两组患者的临床疗效。随访2月观察患者残存的腰部疼痛症状是否消失、复发或者残留。结果观察组的临床疗效、患者对疾病的认知度及对护理人员护理的满意度均大于观察组(P<0.05)。随访2月后观察组残存腰部疼痛症状未缓解及复查率小于对照组。(P<0.05)。结论个体化护理能够提高小针刀治疗第三腰椎横突综合征患者的临床疗效,有利于患者出院后更加科学配合医生治疗疾病,降低疾病复发率,提高疾病的愈合时间、减少患者的经济负担甚至减少医、护、患之间的纠纷发生率,更好树立医生在患者心目中的形象。 展开更多

Despite the lack of precise mechanisms of action, a growing number of studies suggests that gut microbiota is involved in a great number of physiological functions of the human organism. In fact, the composition and the relations of intestinal microbial populations play a role, either directly or indirectly, to both the onset and development of various pathologies. In particular, the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system are closely connected by the so-called gut–brain axis, a complex bidirectional system in which the central and enteric nervous system interact with each other, also engaging endocrine, immune and neuronal circuits. This allows us to put forward new working hypotheses on the origin of some multifactorial diseases: from eating to neuropsychiatric disorders (such as autism spectrum disorders and depression) up to diabetes and tumors (such as colorectal cancer). This scenario reinforces the idea that the microbiota and its composition represent a factor, which is no longer negligible, not only in preserving what we call “health” but also in defining and thus determining it. Therefore, we propose to consider the gut-brain axis as the focus of new scientific and clinical investigation as long as the locus of possible systemic therapeutic interventions. 展开更多

Improving Data Utility Through Game Theory in Personalized Differential Privacy

Due to dramatically increasing information published in social networks,privacy issues have given rise to public concerns.Although the presence of differential privacy provides privacy protection with theoretical foundations,the trade-off between privacy and data utility still demands further improvement.However,most existing studies do not consider the quantitative impact of the adversary when measuring data utility.In this paper,we firstly propose a personalized differential privacy method based on social distance.Then,we analyze the maximum data utility when users and adversaries are blind to the strategy sets of each other.We formalize all the payoff functions in the differential privacy sense,which is followed by the establishment of a static Bayesian game.The trade-off is calculated by deriving the Bayesian Nash equilibrium with a modified reinforcement learning algorithm.The proposed method achieves fast convergence by reducing the cardinality from n to 2.In addition,the in-place trade-off can maximize the user's data utility if the action sets of the user and the adversary are public while the strategy sets are unrevealed.Our extensive experiments on the real-world dataset prove the proposed model is effective and feasible. 展开更多

However, in light of numerous news apps and information overload, motivating users to adopt one app is a major concern for both the industry and academia. Therefore, considering the attributes of mobile news and the debate on switching costs in the Internet context, based on the expectation-confirmation model (ECM), this study suggests that switching costs still exist and have a significant moderating effect on user satisfaction and continuous usage of mobile news apps. Furthermore, the different influences of information quality, system quality and service quality on continuance intention, user satisfaction and switching costs are discussed, showing that quality of information has a significant impact on users’ continuous usage of mobile news apps through increasing perceived usefulness, whereas personalized service quality have stronger effects through increasing user satisfaction and switching costs. 展开更多

This paper contributes to the well-known challenge of active user participation in demand side management(DSM).In DSM, there is a need for modern pricing mechanisms that will be able to effectively incentivize selfishly behaving users in modifying their energy consumption pattern towards system-level goals like energy efficiency.Three generally desired properties of DSM algorithms are: user satisfaction, energy cost minimization and fairness.In this paper, a personalized real-time pricing(P-RTP) mechanism design framework is proposed that fairly allocates the energy cost reduction only to the users that provoke it.Thus, the proposed mechanism achieves significant reduction of the energy cost without sacrificing at all the welfare(user satisfaction)of electricity consumers.The business model that the proposed mechanism envisages is highly competitive flexibility market environments as well as energy cooperatives. 展开更多

个性化低剂量螺旋CT扫描在胸腰椎外伤检查中的应用

目的:探讨根据腰围个体化降低管电流在胸腰椎外伤多层螺旋CT检查中的可行性和方法。方法:取牛腰椎段,做成55~120 cm腰围的CT模型,其他扫描参数不变,以25~300 mA扫描椎体,得出图像质量合格的管电流值。131例腰椎CT检查的非外伤病例进行... 目的:探讨根据腰围个体化降低管电流在胸腰椎外伤多层螺旋CT检查中的可行性和方法。方法:取牛腰椎段,做成55~120 cm腰围的CT模型,其他扫描参数不变,以25~300 mA扫描椎体,得出图像质量合格的管电流值。131例腰椎CT检查的非外伤病例进行正常椎体常规和低剂量条件扫描,筛选出合适低剂量扫描条件;43例外伤胸腰椎体实施筛选的低剂量扫描。比较分析断层、MPR和VR、MIP图像。结果:CT扫描管电流与腰围相关性高,Pearson相关系数为0.994;以管电流为自变量,腰围为因变量,得出回归方程y=1.053 x-33.187,R^2=0.984。低剂量扫描辐射剂量较常规剂量扫描明显减低;骨皮质、椎管内结构、椎管旁软组织及图像整体质量(骨窗及软组织窗)的图像质量与常规剂量扫描图像质量比较,差异有统计学意义,它们的评分值均达到良好和可接受程度;VR、MIP图像优良率达到93%。结论:根据腰围个体化低剂量多层螺旋CT对胸腰椎外伤的检查是可行的,获得的图像以及三维后处理图像的质量能满足临床诊断需要,可应用于胸腰椎外伤检查。 展开更多

Predicting (side) effects for patients with inflammatory bowel disease: The promise of pharmacogenetics 预览

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic and heterogeneous intestinal inflammatory disorder. The medical management of IBD aims for long-lasting disease remission to prevent complications and disease progression. Early introduction of immunosuppression forms the mainstay of medical IBD management. Large inter-individual variability in drug responses, in terms of both efficacy and toxicity, leads to high rates of therapeutic failure in the management of IBD. Better patient stratification is needed to maximize patient benefit and minimize the harm caused by adverse events. Pre-treatment pharmacogenetic testing has the potential to optimize drug selection and dose, and to minimize harm caused by adverse drug reactions. In addition, optimizing the use of cheap conventional drugs, and avoiding expensive ineffective drugs, will lead to a significant reduction in costs. Genetic variation in both TPMT and NUDT15, genes involved in thiopurine metabolism, is associated to an increased risk of thiopurine-induced myelosuppression. Moreover, specific HLA haplotypes confer risk to thiopurine-induced pancreatitis and to immunogenicity to tumor necrosis factor-antagonists, respectively. Falling costs and increased availability of genetic tests allow for the incorporation of pre-treatment genetic tests into clinical IBD management guidelines. In this paper, we review clinically useful pharmacogenetic associations for individualized treatment of patients with IBD and discuss the path from identification of a predictive pharmacogenetic marker to implementation into IBD clinical care. 展开更多

The intimate connection and the strict mutual cooperation between the gut and the liver realizes a functional entity called gut-liver axis.The integrity of intestinal barrier is crucial for the maintenance of liver homeostasis.In this mutual relationship,the liver acts as a second firewall towards potentially harmful substances translocated from the gut,and is,in turn,is implicated in the regulation of the barrier.Increasing evidence has highlighted the relevance of increased intestinal permeability and consequent bacterial translocation in the development of liver damage.In particular,in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease recent hypotheses are considering intestinal permeability impairment,diet and gut dysbiosis as the primary pathogenic trigger.In advanced liver disease,intestinal permeability is enhanced by portal hypertension.The clinical consequence is an increased bacterial translocation that further worsens liver damage.Furthermore,this pathogenic mechanism is implicated in most of liver cirrhosis complications,such as spontaneous bacterial peritonitis,hepatorenal syndrome,portal vein thrombosis,hepatic encephalopathy,and hepatocellular carcinoma.After liver transplantation,the decrease in portal pressure should determine beneficial effects on the gut-liver axis,although are incompletely understood data on the modifications of the intestinal permeability and gut microbiota composition are still lacking.How the modulation of the intestinal permeability could prevent the initiation and progression of liver disease is still an uncovered area,which deserves further attention. 展开更多
