The distribution and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in shallow groundwater from an alluvial-diluvial fan of the Hutuo River in North China

This paper has investigated the concentration and distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in shallow groundwater from an alluvial-diluvial fan of the Hutuo River in North concentration levels of China.Results show that the 16 priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons range from 0 to 92.06 ng/L,do not conform to drinking water quality standards in China (GB 5749-2006).However,the concentration figures of priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are much lower than that of other studies conducted elsewhere in China.In addition,highly-concentrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (50-92 ng/L)are fragmentarily distributed.The composition of polycyelic aromatic hydrocarbons from this study indicates that low molecular polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are predominant in groundwater samples, medium molecular compounds occur at low concentrations,and high molecular hydrocarbons are not detected. The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon composition in groundwater samples is basically the same as that of gaseous samples in the atmosphere in this study.Therefore, the atmospheric input is assumed to be an important source of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons,no less than wastewater discharge,adhesion on suspended solids,and surface water leakage.Ratios of specific polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons demonstrate that they mainly originate from wood or coal combustion as well as natural gas and partially from petroleum according to the result of principal component analysis.On the whole,conclusions are drawn that the contamination sources of these polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are likely petrogenic and pyrolytic inputs.Future investigations by sampling topsoil,vadose soil,and the atmosphere can further verify aforementioned conclusions. 展开更多

Structural model of C100H79O7NS coal organic mass was obtained within density functional theory in the localized orbital basis set using the B3LYP hybrid functional. The model was compared with the known experimental data for coal of different grades and its sorption properties were studied with respect to CH4, CO2 and H2O. It has been shown that macromolecule of coal organic mass has bulk structure with a pore inside it. Interaction between coal and CH4 molecules consists of typical physical adsorption with oligomer formation on the pore border, physical adsorption with elements of chemical adsorption was also observed between coal and H2O molecules. Interaction between coal and H2O molecules included both physical and chemical adsorbion. 展开更多

In this study, the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from the sediment cores M2 in the Pryza Bay of the Antarctica were quantitatively measured using GC-MS analysis, and it is found that the PAHs mainly included bicyclic naphthalene compounds, tricyclic phenanthrene and fluorine series (dibenzofuran and dibenzothiophene), and tetracyclic fluoranthene, pyrene and chrysene series. The results showed that the phenanthrene series with low molecular weight (tricyclic compounds) had a relatively higher content than the series with high molecular weight (tetracyclic compounds). The fluoranthene/(fluoranthene and pyrene) ratio of M2 varied from 0.46 to 0.54. Integrated with the content of 1,7-dimethylphenanthrene and terrigenous chrysene, it is inferred that PAHs in the sediments from the Pryzd Bay were originated from a mixed source of the products of petroleum, refined products and coal combustion, natural source and terrigenous higher plants. Complete methyl dibenzothiophene and dimethyldibenzothiophene series compounds were detected in the sediment cores, which are closely associated with a reducing environment. The ratio of dibenzothiophene to dibenzofuran was between 0.46 and 3.21, mostly greater than 0.7. Combined with the oxidation/reduction index (Pr/Ph) ranging from 0.45 to 0.61 for the sediment cores, it is indicated that these compounds were formed in a normal reducing environment. Geochemical parameters of PAHs such as TNR-1 (0.53-1.57), MPI (0.24-1.21), MDR (1.83-5.57), and MDBI (0.41-0.93), and maturity parameters such as C 29 /C 29 (+), C 31 22S/C 31 (22S+22R), C 32 22S/C 32 (22S+22R) and Ts/(Tm+Ts) were all indicative of high maturity. However, all the above parameters were significantly deviated from those of modern sediments and modern organisms, which undoubtedly shows the input of exogenous mature organic matter. 展开更多

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) have been the subject of interdisciplinary research in the fields of chemistry, physics,materials science, and biology. Notably, PAHs have drawn increasing attention since the discovery of graphene, which has been regarded as the "wonder" material in the 21 st century. Different from semimetallic graphene, nanoscale graphenes, such as graphene nanoribbons and graphene quantum dots, exhibit finite band gaps owing to the quantum confinement, making them attractive semiconductors for next-generation electronic applications. Researches based on PAHs and graphenes have expanded rapidly over the past decade, thereby posing a challenge in conducting a comprehensive review. This study aims to interconnect the fields of PAHs and graphenes, which have mainly been discussed separately. In particular, by selecting representative examples, we explain how these two domains can stimulate each other. We hope that this integrated approach can offer new opportunities and further promote synergistic developments in these fields. 展开更多

This study was conducted to explore the effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on the growth and physiological characteristics of vegetable seedlings.Cucumber,Chinese cabbage and radish were cultured under the stress of 16 PAHs at different concentrations of 0.3,0.6 and 0.9 mg/L,respectively,with the seedlings cultured without PAHs as the control,to study the growth and physiological responses of various vegetable seedlings under PAHs stress.The results showed that the leaf width,fresh weight,CAT activity and POD activity of cucumber and the chlorophyll b content and CAT activity of radish reached the minimum values when treated with 0.3 mg/L PAHs.When the treatment concentration was 0.6 mg/L,the POD activity of cucumber,the vitamin C content of Chinese cabbage and the MDA content of radish were the smallest.The dry weight of cucumber,the fresh weight of Chinese cabbage and the fresh weight and POD activity of radish reached the minimums under the treatment of 0.9 mg/L PAHs.Different concentrations of PAHs could promote the synthesis and photosynthesis of chlorophyll in cucumber and Chinese cabbage leaves and the vitamin C content in radish.With the increase of PAHs treatment concentration,the MDA contents of cucumber and Chinese cabbage were on the increase,and reached the maximums under the treatment of 0.9 mg/L PAHs.One of the reasons why different kinds of vegetable seedlings have different physiological responses to PAHs may be related to the differences in the amount of PAHs absorbed by different leaf structures. 展开更多

Titanium(Ⅳ) isopropoxide [Ti(Oi-Pr)4] plays a key role during the photo cycloaddition, which may help to accelerate the in teraction between dienophile and the stereo-hi ndered diene species as well as control the diastereoselectivity. This photolysis provides a new solution for the stereospecific formation core structures of aromatic abietane diterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids, which have multiple functional groups for the further transformations. The coastal cities are the most advanced regions in China.In the past few decades,the environment changed very significantly due to large scale human activities in the coastal regions.Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)in three dated sediment cores from the west coast of the Yellow Sea (core A01),the Yangtze River estuary (YRE;core A02)and the Oujiang River estuary (ORE;core A03)were analyzed to reconstruct the environmental evolutionary process of the east China coastal region over the past century. In the three cores,PAHs concentrations were increased rapidly.Lower concentrations of PAHs were measured in core A02 than in cores A01 and A03.The vertical variation of PAHs in the YRE Was dominated by the petrogenic sources.Historical records of PAHs in the ORE were controlled by pyrolytic sources.PAHs on the west coast of the Yellow Sea were contributed by the two sources. 展开更多

Typical end-member oil derived from Cambrian-Lower Ordovician source rocks in the Tarim Basin,NW China 预览

Based on GC-MS data of saturate and aromatic hydrocarbon fractions in crude oils from Well TD 2 and the Yingmaili and Tazhong area in the Tarim Basin, the end-member oil derived from Cambrian-Lower Ordovician source rocks was determined. The analytical results show that the crude oil from Well TD2 is rich in 3-6 ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons without alkyl group, suggesting that this oil was altered by an abnormally thermal event. It contains a complete series of normal alkanes and 25-norhopanes, indicating that it is mixed oil of normal oil and biodegraded oil, so it can’t be taken as end-member oil derived from Cambrian source rocks. The geochemical characteristics of crude oils from Well TZ11 and TZ30 are completely different from the crude oils from Well YM101 and YM201 generated by Middle-Upper Ordovician source rocks, so it is inferred that they are derived from Cambrian-Lower Ordovician source rocks. In addition, these crude oils don’t contain 25-norhopanne series, indicating that they haven’t suffered biodegradation and satisfy with geochemical conditions of end-member oil. It is noteworthy that the two kinds of marine oils have similar triaromatic steroids and methyl triaromatic steroids, but very different C27-29 steranes and C28-30 methyl steranes, showing that they are not a good indicator of organic matter input. Triaromatic dinosteroids are a kind of biomarkers most usually used in marine oil-source correlation in the Tarim Basin, but the big differences in their relative abundances between crude oil from Well TD 2 and two kinds of end-member marine oils suggest that they are easily affected by thermal maturity and should be cautiously used in marine oil-source correlation. 展开更多

采用荷电低压颗粒物撞击器(ELPI)、便携式 PM2.5采样器和稀释系统,对国内3家新型干法水泥生产厂(5条生产线)的水泥窑(包括窑头和窑尾)进行现场采样,分析水泥窑排放 PM2.5的质量浓度、粒数浓度及其中的多环芳烃(PAHs)浓度,对呼... 采用荷电低压颗粒物撞击器(ELPI)、便携式 PM2.5采样器和稀释系统,对国内3家新型干法水泥生产厂(5条生产线)的水泥窑(包括窑头和窑尾)进行现场采样,分析水泥窑排放 PM2.5的质量浓度、粒数浓度及其中的多环芳烃(PAHs)浓度,对呼吸致癌风险进行评价.结果表明:从粒数浓度分析,PM2.5中70%以上为 PM0.33,这部分颗粒物主要是由气化凝结形成的.各采样点排放的 PAHs 主要以二环和三环的低环PAHs为主.第3个水泥厂窑头排放的PAHs含量最高,而且苯并[a]芘(BaP)超过国家所规定的8ng/m3标准限值,同时其呼吸致癌风险水平为4.46×0^-4,高于可接受致癌风险水平的上限,需要有效处理. 展开更多
