High resolution shallow seismic data was acquired from inner continental shelf of Goa,west coast of India to map underlying stratigraphic and buried geomorphic features of shelf strata.Seismic data revealed characteristic channel incisions beneath 4-15 m thick sediment layer and corresponds to multi cycle incisions.Stratigraphic analysis of these incision signatures reveals three prominent subaerial unconformities S6,S7 and S9.These unconformities were exposed during the last glacial,penultimate glacial(MIS-6)and prior to penultimate glacial(MIS-8)periods.On the basis of interpreted age of subaerial unconformities and differences in their morphological features,observed channel incisions have been divided grossly into three phases of incision.Phase-1 incisions are older than~330 kyr BP,whereas,incisions of Phase-2 and Phase-3 correspond to~320-125 kyr BP and~115-10 kyr BP respectively.Plan form of these incisions varied from a straight channel type to ingrown meander and then to anastomosing channel types.These channels meet at the confluence of present-day Mandovi and Zuari rivers.The confluence point has varied in due course of time because of cyclic incision and burial with repeated sea level fluctuations.The preserved main channel width varies from~100 m to 1000 m.and maximum channel depth reaches up to~35 m.Comparison of quantitative and qualitative morphologic results of different phases of incisions suggest that Phase-2 channels had~33%more mean bank full discharge than that of the Phase-3 channels.Phase-2 incisions had been carved in higher hydraulic energy condition as compared to Phase-3 incisions implying that the Indian summer monsoon was better during formative stages of Phase-2 incisions. 展开更多

Influence of Vertical Inertia Force of Covering Soil on Seismic Damage Response of Shallow Buried Underground Frame Structure Shaking Table Model Test of Centrifuge 预览

The existing research shows that the lateral deformation capacity of the middle column under different axial compression ratios is the key factor affecting the seismic performance of the shallow-buried frame subway station structure. In order to study the influence of the increase of axial compression ratio of columns caused by vertical earthquake on the seismic damage response of shallow-buried underground frame structures, a centrifuge shaking table model test for seismic damage of underground structures was carried out by adding steel sand to the overlying soil to reflect the vertical inertial force of the overlying soil. The test results show that the method of mixing steel sand with the soil cover on the structure has little influence on the dynamic characteristics of the soil-structure system and the horizontal relative displacement response of the top and bottom plates of the underground structure under earthquake. Increasing the vertical inertial force of the overlying soil greatly changes the distribution of contact pressure between the surrounding rock and soil mass and the underground structure, thus changing the internal force state of each structural member and increasing the axial compression ratio of the key vertical bearing columns in the frame structure. Increasing the vertical inertia force of the overlying soil results in the stress on the frame of the underground structure and the increased axial compression ratio of the central column, which makes the underground frame structure more prone to earthquake damage. 展开更多

Based on the study of natural gas resource, low buried hill trap formation mechanism, high quality reservoir control factors and natural gas preservation conditions, the formation conditions and reservoir accumulation characteristics of Bozhong 19-6 large condensate gas field were summarized. Large gas generation potential of multiple sets of thick humic-sapropelic source rocks in high maturity stage in Bozhong depression was the basis of large gas field formation. The multi-stage tectonic evolution since Indosinian period formed large-scale buried hill traps. The Tanlu fault activity formed multi-type reservoirs, and buried hill metamorphic rock of Archean and sand-conglomerate of Kongdian Formation were high-quality reservoirs. Thick overpressure lacustrine mudstone and weak neotectonic movement provided good preservation conditions. Bozhong 19-6 gas reservoir was a condensate gas reservoir with very high condensate oil content, and the gas origin was humic-sapropelic and kerogen-cracking gas, and the gas field had large gas thickness, high gas column characteristics and the accumulation process was first oil and then gas. The buried hill reservoir was a massive reservoir and the Kongdian reservoir was a stratified reservoir. The gas field had multi-channel hydrocarbon intense charge from overpressure source rocks, atmospheric-weak overpressure reservoir favorable for accumulation, thick overpressure mudstone caprock favorable for preservation, and natural gas ultra-late rapid accumulation model. 展开更多

An approach to grading coalbed methane resources in China for the purpose of implementing a differential production subsidy

The heterogeneity of coalbed methane(CBM) resources was not taken into account when the current indiscriminate subsidy policy was developed. In it, limited subsidy funds are given first to high-quality resources and even to subsidize profitable projects. Thus, the policy has had less than the intended effect in improving CBM production. To implement a new type of differential subsidy, it is necessary to grade the CBM resources, as will be discussed in this paper. After the factors affecting the resources value are systemically examined, sorted and merged, the relationship between the key factors and economic value is analyzed by an engineering economics method, and the production profile type, peak production(or stable production) and buried depth are used as grading factors. The production profile type is used to categorize, and peak production and buried depth are used to grade resources within the same category. The grading method is as follows: use subsidy levels at the economic critical point(NPV = 0) to identify the grades of resources, and determine the combination of peak production and buried depth for different resources grades base on indifference curves drawn according to the relationship between the economic value and peak production and buried depth. 展开更多

Engineering construction actively occurs in coastal zones, and these areas have numerous potential geological hazard factors. Since 2009, the development of geological surveys in sea areas has promoted extensive geophysical surveys in Qingdao offshore. In the present study, the types and distribution of potential geological hazard factors were systematically revealed using sub-bottom profile data, side-scan sonar data, and single-channel seismic data, among others. Based on previous research findings, the potential geological hazard factors are classified, and control factors in Qingdao offshore are discussed. The research results show that the primary potential geological hazards include active faults, buried paleo channels, shallow gas, irregular bedrock, eroded gullies, estuary deltas, tidal sand ridges, and seawater intrusion. In addition, neotectonic movement, sea level changes and sedimentary dynamic processes were the main factors that affected the distribution of geological hazards in Qingdao offshore. 展开更多

For elastic spherical objects, studies have shown that a series of narrowband energetic arrivals follow the first specular one. However, in practice, the elastic echo is rather weak because of the acoustic absorption, propagation loss, and reverberation, which makes it difficult to extract elastic scattering features, especially for buried targets. To remove the interference and enhance the elastic scattering, the de-chirping method was adopted here to address the target scattering echo when a linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal is transmitted. The parameters of the incident signal were known. With the de-chirping operation, a target echo was transformed into a cluster of narrowband signals, and the elastic components could be extracted with a band-pass filter and then recovered by remodulation. The simulation results indicate the feasibility of the elastic scattering extraction and recovery. The experimental result demonstrates that the interference was removed and the elastic scattering was visibly enhanced after de-chirping, which facilitates the subsequent resonance feature extraction for target classification and recognition. 展开更多

The submarine pipelines that are buried in the Yellow River subaqueous delta can be subject to fluctuant local-liquefied soil caused by storm wave action,possibly causing pipeline damage.An experimental investigation was carried out in a wave flume to study the horizontal normal force on buried rigid pipelines in fluctuant liquefied soil.In this experiment,the soil bed was made of silt from the Yellow River Delta,whereas a steel pipe served as pipeline.Under the experimental conditions,the normal force range on the pipeline in fluctuant liquefied soil was several times higher than that in stable soil,specifically on the side of the pipeline exposed to the wave direction.The resultant force of the horizontal normal forces on the buried pipeline grew by about one order of magnitude after soil liquefaction. 展开更多

Using electrogeochemical approach to explore buried gold deposits in an alpine meadow-covered area

Exploration for buried gold ores and other dee-ply buried ores, especially in high altitude localities, is oneof the tough challenges facing the geological world today.Fast and efficient ore prospecting methods are badly nee-ded to deal with the situation. This paper documents a testthat, for the first time, uses an electrogeochemical approachto prospect ores in the alpine meadow-covered Bangz-huoma area and its periphery in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.The results were compared with conventional soil mea-surements from a 2D prospection, and an ideal model ofelectrogeochemical anomaly formation in the area wasestablished based on the comparison in order to providetheoretical guidance to buried ore prospecting in areas withsimilar conditions. The research shows that: (1) Forexploration of deeply-buried mineral deposits, an electro-geochemical approach is better than soil measurements interms of correspondence between element content valuesand anomaly forms and spatial distribution of knowndeposits in sections. Anomalies of high to low temperatureelement associations (Bi-Mo; Au-Ag-As-Bi and Au-Ag)and clear zonation were also observed along vertical veinruns in the sections. Based on integration of the observationwith geological characteristics of the sections, we proposeto use Au, Ag and As as the electrogeochemical indicatorsand Bi and Mo as the electrogeochemical tracing elements to guide further analysis. (2) Judging from element statis-tics and the scale, intensity, and range of anomalies in planmaps, we found that an electrogeochemical approach is lessaffected by topography and secondary actions. The planmaps also show that elemental differentiation coefficientsof the study area are in an ascending order of Ag(0.67) 〈 Mo (0.85) 〈 Bi (0.97) 〈 Au (1.51) 〈 As (2.35),better representing the element distribution in the area andyielding more striking and concentrated anomalies forknown deposits than that of the soil measurements. 地埋式自升起喷灌装置能够解决固定管道式喷灌妨碍耕作、影响收获和拆装费工等问题。基于湿润土壤抗剪强度降低的原理,系统分析了装置破土过程中所需克服的最大阻力和有效推动力,推导形成了多类型土壤条件下的最小进水压强公式,研究了... 地埋式自升起喷灌装置能够解决固定管道式喷灌妨碍耕作、影响收获和拆装费工等问题。基于湿润土壤抗剪强度降低的原理,系统分析了装置破土过程中所需克服的最大阻力和有效推动力,推导形成了多类型土壤条件下的最小进水压强公式,研究了管径大小对破土的影响。研究结果表明,输水压强需达到0.7 MPa才能保证无出流的灌溉设备在所有类型土壤中实现破土,远大于喷灌的实际工作压力;灌溉设备顶部有出流的情况下,输水压强仅需达到0.15 MPa就可以顺利破土而出;当管径在0.01-0.09 m范围变化时,破土所需的最小进水压强随着伸缩管管径的增大而减小,当管径超过0.09 m,破土所需的压强基本不变。由此可知,本文针对地埋式自升起喷灌装置提出的设计原理分析方法,可为水力驱动自升降灌溉设备的结构优化与设计提供依据。 展开更多

Novel endoscopic management of buried bumper syndrome in percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy: The Olympus Hook Knife 预览

Buried bumper syndrome(BBS) is an uncommon but serious complication of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. It involves the internal fixation device, or 'bumper', migrating into the gastric wall and subsequent mucosal overgrowth. We described a case series of four patients with BBS treated with a novel endoscopic technique using a Hook Knife between June 2016 and February 2017. The Hook Knife is a rotating L-shaped cutting wire designed for hooking tissue and pulling it away from the gastric wall towards the lumen. The technique was successful in all four cases with no complications. Each patient was discharged on the day of treatment. The Hook Knife is a manoeuvrable, safe and effective device for endoscopic removal of buried bumpers and could avoid surgery in a high risk group of patients. To our knowledge this technique has not been described previously. We suggest that this technique should be added to the treatment algorithms for managing BBS. 展开更多
