In this paper, we consider the decentralized optimal control problem for linear discrete-time systems with multiple input channels. First, under centralized control, the optimal feedback gains are given in terms of two algebraic Riccati equations. A reduced order observer is then designed using only the local input and output information. By selecting an appropriate initial value for the observer, we derive an observer-based decentralized optimal controller where the feedback gain is the same as that obtained in the centralized optimal control problem. Last but not least, we study the optimal control problem of non-homogeneous multi-agent systems as an application. A suboptimal decentralized controller is obtained and the difference between the suboptimal cost and the optimal one is given. 展开更多

Swarm robotics in maritime engineering is a promising approach characterized by large numbers of relatively small and inexpensive autonomous aquatic crafts (AACs) to monitor marine environments. Compared with a single, large aquatic manned or unmanned surface vehicle, a highly distributed aquatic swarm system with several AACs features advantages in numerous real-world maritime missions, and its natural potential is qualified for new classes of tasks that uniformly feature low cost and high efficiency through time. This article develops an inexpensive AAC based on an embedded-systemcompanion computer and open-source autopilot, providing a verification platform for education and research on swarm algorithm on water surfaces. A topology communication network, including an inner communication network to exchange information among AACs and an external communication network for monitoring the state of the AAC Swarm System (AACSS), was designed based on the topology built into the Xbee units for the AACSS. In the emergence control network, the transmitter and receiver were coupled to distribute or recover the AAC. The swarm motion behaviors in AAC were resolved into the capabilities of go-to-waypoint and path following, which can be accomplished by two uncoupled controllers: speed controller and heading controller. The good performance of velocity and heading controllers in go-to-waypoint was proven in a series of simulations. Path following was achieved by tracking a set of ordered waypoints in the go-to-waypoint. Finally, a sea trial conducted at the China National Deep Sea Center successfully demonstrated the motion capability of the AAC. The sea trial results showed that the AAC is suited to carry out environmental monitoring tasks by efficiently covering the desired path, allowing for redundancy in the data collection process and tolerating the individual AACs’ path-following offset caused by winds and waves. 展开更多

Nitrogen removal of wastewater containing high-strength ammonium by the constructed wetlands (CWs) has been paid much attention. In this study, the ability of a partially saturated CW to treat anaerobically-digested decentralized swine wastewater under varying operating parameters from summer to winter was investigated. The partially saturated CW achieved better NH4^+-N and TN removal by tidal flow than intermittent flow. With surface loading rates of 0.108, 0.027, and 0.029 kg/(m^2·d) for COD, NH4^+-N, and TN, the partially saturated CW by tidal operation achieved corresponding removal efficiencies of 85.94%, 61.20%, and 57.41%, respectively, even at 10℃. When the rapid-adsorption of NH4^+-N and the bioregeneration of zeolites reached dynamically stable, the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in the aerobic zeolite layer was observed and accounted for 58.82% of the total denitrification of CW. The results of Illumina high-throughput sequencing also indicated that nitnfiers (Nitrospira and Rhizomicrobiurri) and denitrifiers (Rhodanobacter and Thauera) simultaneously existed in the zeolite layer. The dominant existence of versatile organic degraders and nitrifiers/denitrifiers in the zeolite layer was related to the removal of most COD and nitrogen in this zone. The contribution of the possible nitrogen removal pathways in the CW was as follows: nitrification-denitrification (86.55%)>substrate adsorption (11.70%)>plant uptake (1.15%)>microbial assimilation (0.60%). 展开更多

A single-bus DC microgrid can represent a wide range of applications. Control objectives of such systems include high-performance bus voltage regulation and proper load sharing among multiple distributed generators(DGs) under various operating conditions. This paper presents a novel decentralized control algorithm that can guarantee both the transient voltage control performance and realize the predefined load sharing percentages. First, the output-constrained control problem is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained one. Second, a two-step backstepping control algorithm is designed based on the transformed model for bus-voltage regulation. Since the overall control effort can be split proportionally and calculated with locally-measurable signals, decentralized load sharing can be realized. The control design requires neither accurate parameters of the output filters nor load measurement. The stability of the transformed systems under the proposed control algorithm can indirectly guarantee the transient bus voltage performance of the original system. Additionally, the high-performance control design is robust, flexible, and reliable. Switch-level simulations under both normal and fault operating conditions demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

The proposed algorithm can work well when the system model is not exactly known but the input and output data can be measured. The policy iteration of each controller only uses their own states and input information for learning,and do not need to know the whole system dynamics. 目的:对我地区2016年-2018年的农村饮用水监测结果进行分析,以期了解农村饮用水的供水情况和质量。方法:收集广元地区2016年12月-2018年6月农村集中式供水厂和居民分散式供水点的水样资料,共收集样本360份,检测样本中菌落数量、浑浊度... 目的:对我地区2016年-2018年的农村饮用水监测结果进行分析,以期了解农村饮用水的供水情况和质量。方法:收集广元地区2016年12月-2018年6月农村集中式供水厂和居民分散式供水点的水样资料,共收集样本360份,检测样本中菌落数量、浑浊度、pH、硬度、金属及毒理成分含量等项目,分析合格率和存在问题。结果:自来水出厂水样本合格率与管网末梢水对比具有显著差异(P<0.05),管网末梢水与井水合格率对比不具有统计学意义(P>0.05)。丰水期水样监测合格率显著低于枯水期,P<0.05具有统计学意义。除色度、浑浊度、微生物指标外,出厂水其他指标正常,管网末梢水存在部分铁含量不达标,井水存在部分铁含量、铝含量不达标。结论:广元地区农村饮用水存在一定的污染情况,多为微生物不合格,部分管网水和井水含金属超标,今后需要加强饮用水的监测和安全建设管理,以确保农村居民正常饮水。 展开更多

In this paper, a decentralized fault-tolerant cooperative control scheme is developed for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in the presence of actuator faults and a directed communication network. To counteract in-flight actuator faults and enhance formation flight safety, neural networks(NNs) are used to approximate unknown nonlinear terms due to the inherent nonlinearities in UAV models and the actuator loss of control effectiveness faults. To further compensate for NN approximation errors and actuator bias faults, the disturbance observer(DO) technique is incorporated into the control scheme to increase the composite approximation capability.Moreover, the prediction errors, which represent the approximation qualities of the states induced by NNs and DOs to the measured states, are integrated into the developed fault-tolerant cooperative control scheme. Furthermore,prescribed performance functions are imposed on the attitude synchronization tracking errors, to guarantee the prescribed synchronization tracking performance. One of the key features of the proposed strategy is that unknown terms due to the inherent nonlinearities in UAVs and actuator faults are compensated for by the composite approximators constructed by NNs, DOs, and prediction errors. Another key feature is that the attitude synchronization tracking errors are strictly constrained within the prescribed bounds. In the proposed control approach, aircraft engines are considered as uncertain large-scale systems composed of interconnected uncertain subsystems. For each subsystem, the time-varying uncertainty, including parameter disturbances and interconnections in/between subsystems, is depicted by a class of general nonlinear functions. A fractional robust decentralized control with two parts, the nominal one and the fractional one, is presented. The nominal control guarantees the asymptotical stability of the engine system without uncertainty. The fractional part aims at overcoming the influences of uncertainty. Compared to the previous studies, the presented control provides not only an extra flexibility for the system performance tuning by the fraction-type gain but also a facility for the control input calculation. The proposed control approach is applied to a turbofan engine with two subsystems. The computer simulation shows that, in the flight envelope, the fractional control not only guarantees the closed-loop system uniform boundedness and ultimate uniform boundedness but also shows good economy. 展开更多

This paper presents a decentralized control strategy for the scheduling of electrical energy activities of a microgrid composed of smart homes connected to a distributor and exchanging renewable energy produced by individually owned distributed energy resources. The scheduling problem is stated and solved with the aim of reducing the overall energy supply from the grid, by allowing users to exchange the surplus renewable energy and by optimally planning users’ controllable loads. We assume that each smart home can both buy/sell energy from/to the grid taking into account time-varying non-linear pricing signals. Simultaneously, smart homes cooperate and may buy/sell locally harvested renewable energy from/to other smart homes. The resulting optimization problem is formulated as a non-convex non-linear programming problem with a coupling of decision variables in the constraints. The proposed solution is based on a novel heuristic iterative decentralized scheme algorithm that suitably extends the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers to a non-convex and decentralized setting. We discuss the conditions that guarantee the convergence of the presented algorithm. Finally, the application of the proposed technique to a case study under several scenarios shows its effectiveness. 展开更多

The aim of the current paper is to discuss the replacement of diesel oil (DO) consumption by natural gas (NG) in a cogeneration system. A specific industrial consumption case study was chosen to be the method used to accomplish a robust analysis. The results have shown the advantages in reducing CO2, CH4, N2O and particulate matter emissions, as well as the need to keep the NOx emission rates. After proceeding with theoretical studies concerning our case, we concluded that the diesel oil replacement by natural gas is beneficial for gas emission reduction. Public policies should consider local development based on the use of different fuels, such natural gas, to achieve the integration between decentralized energy generation and energy-efficient initiatives. 展开更多
