The clinical translation of nanomedicine is hindered by the low delivery efficiency, and consequently drug concentration in tumor sites falls short of the therapeutic effective range which leads to poor clinical outco... The clinical translation of nanomedicine is hindered by the low delivery efficiency, and consequently drug concentration in tumor sites falls short of the therapeutic effective range which leads to poor clinical outcomes. One important lesson learned from the development of antibody-drug-conjugates (ADCs) is that to achieve significant clinical benefits, extremely potent cytotoxic agents and cleavable linkers should be used. By encapsulating maytansinoid, AP3, which is 100-1,000 times more potent than most conventional small molecule anticancer drugs, in pH-sensitive acetalated dextran-polyethylene glycol (PEG)(ADP) nanocarriers, even with only 1% drug loading, we were able to eradicate tumors in 50% of tested animals with negligible side effects, while free AP3 only showed marginal efficacy and severe liver damages. This study suggests that besides improving the low efficiency of nano-delivery systems, the potency of drug to be delivered is also critical to the clinical outcomes of nanomedicine. Our results also showed that ADP nanoparticles (NPs) were able to expand the narrow therapeutic window of maytansinoids in a similar manner to the ADCs. 展开更多

In recent decades,terrestrial vegetation in the northern hemisphere(NH)has been exposed to warming and more extremely high temperatures.However,the consequences of these changes for terrestrial vegetation growth remain poorly quantifed and understood.By examining a satellite-based vegetation index,tree-ring measurements and land-surface model simulations,we discovered a consistent convex patern in the responses of vegetation growth to temperature exposure(TE)for forest,shrub and grass in both the temperate(30°-50°N)and boreal(50°-70°N)NH during the period of 1982-2012.Te response of vegetation growth to TE for the three vegetation types in both the temperate and boreal NH increased convergently with increasing temperature,until vegetation type-dependent temperature thresholds were reached.A TE beyond these temperature thresholds resulted in disproportionately weak positive or even strong negative responses.Vegetation growth in the boreal NH was more vulnerable to extremely high-temperature events than vegetation growth in the temporal NH.Te non-linear responses discovered here provide new insights into the dynamics of northern terrestrial ecosystems in a warmer world. 展开更多

Through reviewing the generation process and essential characteristics of waterflooding curves, the essence and characteristics of Zhang Jinqing waterflooding curve and Yu Qitai waterflooding curve recommended in Chinese Petroleum Industry Standard 'Calculation methods for Recoverable Oil Reserves(SY/T5367—1998)' were discussed, and some technical issues related to the curves were examined in-depth. We found that:(1) All the waterflooding curves are based on empirical formulas derived from oilfield production experience and statistics methods, and can characterize oil displacement features by water quite well.(2) A new waterflooding curve can be derived by combining waterflooding parameters and using different mathematical calculations as long as the parameter combinations and mathematical operation meet a linear relationship, so proposing new waterflooding curves by changing the combination mode has no practical significance anymore.(3) The upwarp of waterflooding curve in the extremely high water cut stage is because the mobility ratio curve has an inflection point with the rapid rise of water cut after reaching a certain value, and the later rapid rise of mobility ratio changes the original two-phase flow dynamics.(4) After entering into water cut stage, all the waterflooding curves with linear relationship can be used to make prediction, even curves with inflection points, as long as they have a straight section above the inflection point.(5) Actual data of waterflooding oilfields has proved that Type A, Zhang Jinqing and Yu Qitai waterflooding curves all can predict accurately oil recoverable reserves in extremely high water cut stage and can be promoted. 展开更多

目的探讨青光眼小梁切除术后极度浅前房的白内障手术的效果。方法回顾性分析2017年1月至2018年3月收治青光眼小梁切除术后极度浅前房白内障5例(5眼)的临床资料。患眼滤过泡扁平或呈囊状,虹膜前后粘连,前房消失,晶状体完全白色浑浊,眼压... 目的探讨青光眼小梁切除术后极度浅前房的白内障手术的效果。方法回顾性分析2017年1月至2018年3月收治青光眼小梁切除术后极度浅前房白内障5例(5眼)的临床资料。患眼滤过泡扁平或呈囊状,虹膜前后粘连,前房消失,晶状体完全白色浑浊,眼压高。均行睫状体平坦部玻璃体穿刺放液联合前房角分离术及晶状体超声乳化人工晶状体植入术:术后随访6?12个月。结果5例术中均顺利形成前房。术前最佳矫正视力为光感或手动,术后为0.2?0.4。术前平均眼压为(38. 80 ± 11.44)mnHg( 1 mmHg =0. 133 kPa),术后眼压明显降低,末次随访平均眼压为(15. 80 ±2.02)mmHg,与术前眼压相比差异有统计学意义(P<0.01)。术后前房明显加深,末次随访中央前房深度平均为(2.81 ±0.21 )mm,与术前相比差异有统计学意义(P <0.001 )。术后6个月,中央角膜内皮细胞平均丢失率为18.4%。术中术后均无严重并发症发生。结论青光眼小梁切除术后极度浅前房白内障可以通过此联合手术解除瞳孔阻滞,加深前房,降低眼斥. 展开更多

The CDEX-10 experiment searches for light weakly interacting massive particles,a form of dark matter,at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory,where approximately 10 kg of germanium detectors are arranged in an array and immersed in liquid nitrogen.Herein,we report on the experimental apparatus,detector characterization,and spectrum analysis of one prototype detector.Owing to the higher rise-time resolution of the CDEX-10 prototype detector as compared with CDEX-IB,we identified the origin of an observed category of extremely fast events.For data analysis of the CDEX-10 prototype detector,we introduced and applied an improved bulk/surface event discrimination method.The results of the new method were compared to those of the CDEX-IB spectrum.Both sets of results showed good consistency in the 0-12 keVee energy range,except for the 8.0 keV K-shell X-ray peak from the external copper. 展开更多

Based on days of high temperature and extremely highest temperature data in Nanxiong City during 1981-2017,combining the Provisions on the Issuance of Early Warning Signals for Sudden Meteorological Disasters in Guangdong Province,days of high temperature,extreme temperature,characteristic of high temperature warning level in Nanxiong City in past 37 years were analyzed. The results showed that annual average days of high temperature in Nanxiong City was 31. 1 d,and annual average extremely highest temperature was 38. 0 ℃,while annual extremely highest temperature was 40. 4 ℃. High temperature occurred during May-September,and its main occurrence period was from July to August,accounting for 78%. Yellow high temperature weather was the most,followed by orange high temperature weather,and red high temperature weather was the least. High temperature warning concentrated during May-September,and orange and red warning mainly occurred in July-August. In the 21st century,high temperature warning at serious grade accounted for more than 70% of total disaster times. 展开更多

In order to add earthquake monitoring methods and develop new method research,the ELF Network for Earthquake Monitoring selected 30 stations in the Capital Circle and the Sichuan-Yunnan region.Finding electromagnetic field background variation is the basis of distinguishing the seismic electromagnetic anomalies.This paper introduces the data acquisition and selection of the Shexian,Anqiu,Lijiang and Dali stations which have recorded for longer time with better data and are located on the similar latitude.Then we use the natural source electromagnetic field’s auto-power spectrum to express the intensity of the electromagnetic field.By using power spectral data of many frequencies in the observation frequency band,after the data pre-processing and sliding average noising,the background variation of extremely low frequency stations and the range ability were acquired.Taking the Baoshan M 5.1 earthquake on October 30,2015 and Dali M 5.0 earthquake on May 18,2016 as examples,the authors analyzed the earthquake electromagnetic anomaly characteristic of ELF stations around the earthquakes. 展开更多

Despite significant advances in perinatal medicine,the management of extremely preterm infants in the delivery room remains a challenge.There is an increasing evidence for improved outcomes regarding the resuscitation and stabilisation of extremely preterm infants but there is a lack of evidence in the periviable(gestational age 23-25 wk)preterm subgroup.Presence of an experienced team during the delivery of extremely preterm infant to improve outcome is reviewed.Adaptation from foetal to neonatal cardiorespiratory haemodynamics is dependent on establishing an optimal functional residual capacity in the extremely preterm infants,thus enabling adequate gas exchange.There is sufficient evidence for a gentle approach to stabilisation of these fragile infants in the delivery room.Evidence for antenatal steroids especially in the periviable infants,delayed cord clamping,strategies to establish optimal functional residual capacity,importance of temperature control and oxygenation in delivery room in extremely premature infants is reviewed in this article. 展开更多
