To overcome the shortcomings of 1 D and 2 D Otsu’s thresholding techniques, the 3 D Otsu method has been developed.Among all Otsu’s methods, 3 D Otsu technique provides the best threshold values for the multi-level thresholding processes. In this paper, to improve the quality of segmented images, a simple and effective multilevel thresholding method is introduced. The proposed approach focuses on preserving edge detail by computing the 3 D Otsu along the fusion phenomena. The advantages of the presented scheme include higher quality outcomes, better preservation of tiny details and boundaries and reduced execution time with rising threshold levels. The fusion approach depends upon the differences between pixel intensity values within a small local space of an image;it aims to improve localized information after the thresholding process. The fusion of images based on local contrast can improve image segmentation performance by minimizing the loss of local contrast, loss of details and gray-level distributions. Results show that the proposed method yields more promising segmentation results when compared to conventional1 D Otsu, 2 D Otsu and 3 D Otsu methods, as evident from the objective and subjective evaluations. 展开更多

This paper proposes a parameter adaptive hybrid model for image segmentation. The hybrid model combines the global and local information in an image, and provides an automated solution for adjusting the selection of the two weight parameters. Firstly, it combines an improved local model with the global Chan-Vese(CV) model, while the image’s local entropy is used to establish the index for measuring the image’s gray-level information. Parameter adjustment is then performed by the real-time acquisition of the ratio of the different functional energy in a self-adapting model responsive to gray-scale distribution in the image segmentation process.Compared with the traditional linear adjustment model, which is based on trial-and-error, this paper presents a more quantitative and intelligent method for achieving the dynamic nonlinear adjustment of global and local terms.Experiments show that the proposed model achieves fast and accurate segmentation for different types of noisy and non-uniform grayscale images and noise images. Moreover, the method demonstrates high stability and is insensitive to the position of the initial contour. 展开更多

Influence ofγ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles doping on the image sticking in VAN-LCD 认领

Image sticking in liquid crystal display(LCD)is related to the residual direct current(DC)voltage(RDCV)on the cell and the dynamic response of the liquid crystal materials.According to the capacitance change of the liquid crystal cell under the DC bias,the saturated RDCV(SRDCV)can be obtained.The response time can be obtained by testing the optical dynamic response of the liquid crystal cell,thereby evaluating the image sticking problem.Based on this,the image sticking of vertical aligned nematic(VAN)LCD(VAN-LCD)with different cell thicknesses(3.8μm and 11.5μm)and different concentrations ofγ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles(0.017 wt.%,0.034 wt.%,0.051 wt.%,0.068 wt.%,0.136 wt.%,0.204 wt.%,and 0.272 wt.%)was evaluated,and the effect of nano-doping was analyzed.It is found that the SRDCV and response time decrease firstly and then increase with the increase of the doping concentration ofγ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles in the VAN cell.When the doping concentration is 0.034 wt.%,theγ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles can adsorb most of the free impurity ions in liquid crystal materials,resulting in 70%reduction in the SRDCV,8.11%decrease in the decay time,and 15.49%reduction in the rise time.The results show that the doping ofγ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles can effectively improve the image sticking of VAN-LCD and provide useful guidance for improving the display quality. 展开更多

目的:分析孤立性延髓脓肿的临床表现、诊治及预后。方法:对2014—2017年海军军医大学附属长海医院神经内科确诊的2例孤立性延髓脓肿患者的临床资料进行回顾分析。结果:患者分别为48岁女性、39岁男性,均以急性头晕起病,病程6~10 d,可伴... 目的:分析孤立性延髓脓肿的临床表现、诊治及预后。方法:对2014—2017年海军军医大学附属长海医院神经内科确诊的2例孤立性延髓脓肿患者的临床资料进行回顾分析。结果:患者分别为48岁女性、39岁男性,均以急性头晕起病,病程6~10 d,可伴有饮水呛咳(2/2)、声音嘶哑(2/2)、视物成双(1/2),查体可见患侧咽反射迟钝或消失(2/2)、对侧浅感觉障碍、肌力减退(1/2)、闭目难立征阳性(1/2)。病程中曾有低热。头MRI平扫+增强示左侧延髓小片状(或结节状)稍长T1、稍长T2信号,磁共振成像液体衰减反转恢复序列(fluid attenuated inversion recovery,FLAIR)呈高信号,扩散加权成像(diffusion-weighted imaging,DWI)呈高信号,增强后边缘呈环形强化。感染源不明。给予2种以上能透过血脑屏障的广谱抗生素联合抗感染治疗后,患者临床表现及影像学均较前明显好转。出院后随访,恢复良好,未复发。结论:延髓脓肿极罕见,部分病因不明,细菌培养可能阴性,较典型的影像表现为囊壁光滑的环形强化占位灶。对于脓肿位置深或位于功能区、直径较小、薄壁者首选单纯药物治疗,静脉应用血-脑屏障渗透性好的广谱抗生素,并根据患者临床症状及脓腔变化进行调整。 展开更多

Based on compressive sensing and fractional discrete cosine transform(DCT)via polynomial interpolation(PI-FrDCT),an image encryption algorithm is proposed,in which the compression and encryption of an image are accomplished simultaneously.It can keep information secret more effectively with low data transmission.Three-dimensional piecewise and nonlinear chaotic maps are employed to obtain a generating sequence and the exclusive OR(XOR)matrix,which greatly enlarge the key space of the encryption system.Unlike many other fractional transforms,the output of PI-FrDCT is real,which facilitates the storage,transmission and display of the encrypted image.Due to the introduction of a plain-image-dependent disturbance factor,the initial values and system parameters of the encryption scheme are determined by cipher keys and plain-image.Thus,the proposed encryption scheme is very sensitive to the plain-image,which makes the encryption system more secure.Experimental results demonstrate the validity and the reliability of the proposed encryption algorithm. 展开更多

Color image super-resolution reconstruction based on the sparse representation model usually adopts the regularization norm(e.g.,L1 or L2).These methods have limited ability to keep image texture detail to some extent and are easy to cause the problem of blurring details and color artifacts in color reconstructed images.This paper presents a color super-resolution reconstruction method combining the L2/3 sparse regularization model with color channel constraints.The method converts the low-resolution color image from RGB to YCbCr.The L2/3 sparse regularization model is designed to reconstruct the brightness channel of the input low-resolution color image.Then the color channel-constraint method is adopted to remove artifacts of the reconstructed highresolution image.The method not only ensures the reconstruction quality of the color image details,but also improves the removal ability of color artifacts.The experimental results on natural images validate that our method has improved both subjective and objective evaluation. 展开更多

Current researches consider either panoramic or mapping tasks on short videos. In this paper, an automatic mosaicking algorithm is proposed for both mapping and panoramic tasks based on the adapted key-frame on videos of any length.The speeded up robust features(SURF) and the grid motion statistic(GMS) algorithm are used for feature extraction and matching between consecutive frames, which are used to compute the transformation. In order to reduce the influence of the accumulated error during image stitching, an evaluation metric is put forward for the transformation matrix. Besides, a self-growth method is employed to stitch the global image for long videos. The algorithm is evaluated by using aerial-view and panoramic videos respectively on the graphic processing unit(GPU) device, which can satisfy the real-time requirement. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is able to achieve a better performance than the state-of-art. 展开更多

Evaluation of axis alignment and refractive results of toric phakic IOL using image-guided system 认领

AIM: To evaluate accuracy of axis alignment and refractive results of toric phakic intraocular lens(IOL) implantation using a digital imaging system. METHODS: This retrospective study investigated toric implantable collamer lens(ICL) implantation in 30 eyes of 21 patients with myopic astigmatism more than 2.0 D guided with digital imaging system. Data were collected during the first week after phakic IOL implantation.RESULTS: Thirty eyes of 21 patients were included in our study. Patients includes 9 males and 12 females. The mean age of the patients was 26.5±7.1(range 21-44)y. The mean preoperative manifest astigmatism was 3.2±1.7(range from 2.25 to 4.75) D. The mean postoperative uncorrected distance visual acuity(UCDVA) were 0.07±0.07(range from 0.1 to 0.0) log MAR. The mean postoperative residual refractive cylinder was 0.25±0.29(range 0-0.75) D. Eyes with postoperative residual refractive cylinder of 0.5 D or less represented 80%(24 eyes). The mean postoperative toric IOL misalignment measured by the OPD scan III was 1.9°±1.45°(range from 0 to 5°). CONCLUSION: Image guided system allows accurate alignment of toric ICL. This is associated with good postoperative visual acuity and low residual refractive astigmatism which correlates with the precision of toric phakic IOL alignment. 展开更多

To segment high-resolution remote sensing images(RSIs)accurately on an object level and meet the precise boundary dividing requirement,an improved superpixel segmentation and region merging algorithm is proposed.Simple linear iterative clustering(SLIC)is widely used because of its advantages in performance and effect;however,it causes over-segmentation,which is very disadvantageous to information extraction.In this proposed method,SLIC is firstly adopted for initial superpixel partition.The second stage follows the iterative merging procedure,which uses a hierarchical clustering algorithm and introduces a local binary pattern(LBP)texture feature operator during the process of merging.The experimental results indicate that the proposed method achieved a good segmentation and region merging performance,and worked effectively on cloud detection preprocessing in high-resolution RSIs with cloud and snow overlap situations. 展开更多

Background:Cryo-electron microscopy(Cryo-EM)and tomography(Cryo-ET)have emerged as important imaging techniques for studying structures of macromolecular complexes.In 3D reconstruction of large macromolecular complexes,many 2D projection images of macromolecular complex particles are usually acquired with low signal-tonoise ratio.Therefore,it is meaningful to select multiple images containing the same structure with identical orientation.The selected images are averaged to produce a higher-quality representation of the underlying structure with improved resolution.Existing approaches of selecting such images have limited accuracy and speed.Methods:We propose a simulated annealing-based algorithm(SA)to pick the homogeneous image set with best average.Its performance is compared with two baseline methods based on both 2D and 3D datasets.When tested on simulated and experimental 3D Cryo-ET images of Ribosome complex,SA sometimes stopped at a local optimal solution.Restarting is applied to settle this difficulty and significantly improved the performance of SA on 3D datasets.Results:Experimented on simulated and experimental 2D Cryo-EM images of Ribosome complex datasets respectively with SNR=10 and SNR=0.5,our method achieved better accuracy in terms of F-measure,resolution score,and time cost than two baseline methods.Additionally,SA shows its superiority when the proportion of homogeneous images decreases.Conclusions:SA is introduced for homogeneous image selection to realize higher accuracy with faster processing speed.Experiments on both simulated and real 2D Cryo-EM and 3D Cryo-ET images demonstrated that SA achieved expressively better performance.This approach serves as an important step for improving the resolution of structural recovery of macromolecular complexes captured by Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET. 展开更多

The study of tourism destination images is of great significance in the tourism discipline.Tourism user-generated content(UGC),i.e.,the feedback on tourism websites,provides rich information for constructing a destination image.However,it is difficult for tourism researchers to obtain a relatively complete and intuitive destination image due to the unintuitive destination image display,the significant variance in departure time and data length,and the destination type in UGC.We propose TDIVis,a carefully designed visual analytics system,aimed at obtaining a relatively comprehensive destination image.Specifically,a keyword-based sentiment visualization method is proposed to associate the cognitive image with the emotional image,and by this method,both time evolution analysis and classification analysis are considered;a multi-attribute association double sequence visualization method is proposed to associate two different types of text sequences and provide a dynamic visual encoding interaction method for the multi-attribute characteristics of sequences.The effectiveness and usability of TDIVis are demonstrated through four cases and a user study. 展开更多

There has been a framework sketched for learning deep bidirectional intelligence.The framework has an inbound that features two actions:one is the acquiring action,which gets inputs in appropriate patterns,and the other is A-S cognition,derived from the abbreviated form of words abstraction and self-organization,which abstracts input patterns into concepts that are labeled and understood by self-organizing parts involved in the concept into structural hierarchies.The top inner domain accommodates relations and a priori knowledge with the help of the A-I thinking action that is responsible for the accumulation-amalgamation and induction-inspiration.The framework also has an outbound that comes with two actions.One is called I-S reasoning,which makes inference and synthesis(I-S)and is responsible for performing various tasks including image thinking and problem solving,and the other is called the interacting action,which controls,communicates with,and inspects the environment.Based on this framework,we further discuss the possibilities of design intelligence through synthesis reasoning. 展开更多

To develop this system for medical im... In this paper, the development of smart medical autonomous technology is considered. An example of a smart medical autonomous distributed system for diagnostics is also discussed. To develop this system for medical image analysis we review several processing methods. The use of the cuneiform dehydration method for medical diagnosis is considered. The experimental results obtained for blood serum dehydrated films are presented. The author proposes an algorithm for the primary identification of structures formed in the films and their use for automated detection of various structures for diagnostic purposes. The paper describes the first stage of image processing, i.e. the selection of filtering types for the correct identification of structural features and characteristics of the images. The results of filtering and some computational results of various types of structures in the films are presented. 展开更多
