Upgrading Pathways of Intelligent Manufacturing in China:Transitioning across Technological Paradigms 预览

Intelligent technologies are leading to the next wave of industrial revolution in manufacturing.In developed economies,firms are embracing these advanced technologies following a sequential upgrading strategy-from digital manufacturing to smart manufacturing(digital-networked),and then to newgeneration intelligent manufacturing paradigms.However,Chinese firms face a different scenario.On the one hand,they have diverse technological bases that vary from low-end electrified machinery to leading-edge digital-network technologies;thus,they may not follow an identical upgrading pathway.On the other hand,Chinese firms aim to rapidly catch up and transition from technology followers to probable frontrunners;thus,the turbulences in the transitioning phase may trigger a precious opportunity for leapfrogging,if Chinese manufacturers can swiftly acquire domain expertise through the adoption of intelligent manufacturing technologies.This study addresses the following question by conducting multiple case studies:Can Chinese firms upgrade intelligent manufacturing through different pathways than the sequential one followed in developed economies?The data sources include semistructured interviews and archival data.This study finds that Chinese manufacturing firms have a variety of pathways to transition across the three technological paradigms of intelligent manufacturing in nonconsecutive ways.This finding implies that Chinese firms may strategize their own upgrading pathways toward intelligent manufacturing according to their capabilities and industrial specifics;furthermore,this finding can be extended to other catching-up economies.This paper provides a strategic roadmap as an explanatory guide to manufacturing firms,policymakers,and investors. 展开更多

Rapid prototyping (RP) or layered manufacturing (LM) technologies have been extensively used to manufacture prototypes composed mainly of plastics, polymers, paper, and wax due to the short product development time and low costs of these technologies. However, such technologies, with the exception of selective laser melting and sintering, are not used to fabricate metallic products because of the resulting poor life, short cycle, poor surface finish, and low structural integrity of the fabricated parts. The properties endowed by these parts do not match those of functional parts. Therefore, extensive research has been conducted to develop new additive manufacturing (AM) technologies by extending existing RP technologies. Several AM technologies have been developed for the fabrication of metallic objects. These technologies utilize materials, such as Ni-, A1-, and Ti-based alloys and stainless steel powders, to fabricate high-quality functional components. The present work reviews the type of materials used in laserbased AM processes for the manufacture of metallic products. The advantages and disadvantages of processes and different materials are summarized, and future research directions are discussed in the final section. This review can help experts select the ideal type of process or technology for the manufacturing of elements composed of a given alloy or material (Ni, Ti, Al, Pb, and stainless steel). 展开更多

制造业企业究竟是怎样成功选择适合自身发展需要的特定服务化战略的?其服务化战略的成功选择需要何种企业能力?既往研究对此没有做出说服性的解释。本文以三家服务化战略成功转型的传统制造企业作为研究对象,运用扎根理论研究的程序与... 制造业企业究竟是怎样成功选择适合自身发展需要的特定服务化战略的?其服务化战略的成功选择需要何种企业能力?既往研究对此没有做出说服性的解释。本文以三家服务化战略成功转型的传统制造企业作为研究对象,运用扎根理论研究的程序与方法以深入剖析所选案例企业,发掘出'支持顾客行为的服务提供'、'支持顾客产品的服务提供'、'顾客知识获取能力'、'顾客服务操作能力'、'制造业服务化绩效'五个范畴以及范畴之间的逻辑关系,并由此构建了制造业服务化战略生成逻辑与作用机制的理论模型。我们发现,制造业企业特定服务化战略的选择并不是企业随身所欲的经济行为,它是受企业特定的内外部环境条件、自身业务属性和顾客业务需求特征等因素共同作用而成的结果。同时,理论模型也表明:制造业服务化绩效的获取和改善与制造企业开发或培植与服务化战略性质保持相对匹配的特定企业能力存在有密切关系。 展开更多

The effects of atmosphere conditions on microstructural and mechanical properties of stainless steel 17-4PH components fabricated by laser direct manufacturing (LDM) were investigated through mea-surements on phase constitution, porosity, tensile strength, fracture morphology, hardness and evolution of substrate temperature. Results showed that the samples produced in air atmosphere condition pos-sessed higher tensile strength and hardness for both as-deposited and heat-treated states than that in Ar chamber condition, due to dispersion strengthening effect of amorphous oxide particles and nitrogen solution strengthening as a result of higher content of oxygen and nitrogen. The temperature of substrate heat accumulation was higher in Ar chamber condition, leading to dramatically lower porosity and more reverse austenite, which also contributed to the lower strength and hardness. 展开更多

An intelligent manufacturing system is a composite intelligent system comprising humans,cyber systems,and physical systems with the aim of achieving specific manufacturing goals at an optimized level.This kind of intelligent system is called a human-cyber-physical system(HCPS).In terms of technology,HCPSs can both reveal technological principles and form the technological architecture for intelligent manufacturing.It can be concluded that the essence of intelligent manufacturing is to design,construct,and apply HCPSs in various cases and at different levels.With advances in information technology,intelligent manufacturing has passed through the stages of digital manufacturing and digital-networked manufacturing,and is evolving toward new-generation intelligent manufacturing(NGIM).NGIM is characterized by the in-depth integration of new-generation artificial intelligence(AI)technology(i.e.,enabling technology)with advanced manufacturing technology(i.e.,root technology);it is the core driving force of the new industrial revolution.In this study,the evolutionary footprint of intelligent manufacturing is reviewed from the perspective of HCPSs,and the implications,characteristics,technical frame,and key technologies of HCPSs for NGIM are then discussed in depth.Finally,an outlook of the major challenges of HCPSs for NGIM is proposed. 展开更多

制造业与服务业融合发展是工业化后期的一般规律,也是新工业革命背景下制造业与服务业转型发展的重要方向。对于中国而言,促进制造业与服务深度融合既是发展环境变化的客观要求,也是产业高质量发展的主动变革,对于破解当前制造业发展矛... 制造业与服务业融合发展是工业化后期的一般规律,也是新工业革命背景下制造业与服务业转型发展的重要方向。对于中国而言,促进制造业与服务深度融合既是发展环境变化的客观要求,也是产业高质量发展的主动变革,对于破解当前制造业发展矛盾,促进服务业的转型发展与优化升级,提高我国制造业、服务业国际分工地位具有重要意义。借鉴发达国家经验,立足当前国情世情,新时期中国制造业与服务业深度融合要围绕要素结构提升、用户价值提升、制造效能提升和拓展服务提升4个重要目标探索实现路径。推进我国制造业与服务业深度融合的政策重点包括:(1)提高重视程度,消除制度障碍;(2)将先进制造业和现代服务业作为融合发展的重要载体;(3)充分发挥技术进步的作用,鼓励制造企业业态创新;(4)利用新区建设推广融合新模式、新业态;(5)升级发展服务外包,积极参与国际生产性服务业分工。 展开更多

本文基于进出口贸易数据和商品门类数据,对2003年以来东亚地区制造业贸易网络及其生产过程进行研究。首先,由进出口贸易网络可知,无论是劳动密集型还是资本(技术)密集型产品,中国的参与程度均高于周边国家;随着各国经济的发展,东南亚国... 本文基于进出口贸易数据和商品门类数据,对2003年以来东亚地区制造业贸易网络及其生产过程进行研究。首先,由进出口贸易网络可知,无论是劳动密集型还是资本(技术)密集型产品,中国的参与程度均高于周边国家;随着各国经济的发展,东南亚国家也逐渐参与生产网络分工,不断加强同周边国家的贸易经济联系。其次,从产品的生产过程来看,早期'三角贸易'的现象较为明显,尤其是技术含量较高的,以汽车制造业为主的陆上交通工具,但是近年来随着周边国家参与度的提升该模式逐渐在削弱。最后,东亚边缘国家对大国的依赖性比较强,特别是资本(技术)密集型产业,同时小范围区域内的联系在不断加强,如泰国、马来西亚等新兴国家。 展开更多

Track manufacturing is a successful example of China's industrial transformation and strategic restructuring through systematic innovation since the reform and opening up. This paper presents a manufacturing cost constrained topology optimization algorithm considering the laser powder bed additive manufacturing process.Topology optimization for additive manufacturing was recently extensively studied,and many related topics have been addressed.However,metal additive manufacturing is an expensive process,and the high manufacturing cost severely hinders the widespread use of this technology.Therefore,the proposed algorithm in this research would provide an opportunity to balance the manufheturing cost while pursuing the superior structural perfonnance through topology optimization.Technically,the additive manufacturing cost model for laser powder bed-bascd process is established in this paper and real data is collected to support this model.Then,this cost model is transformed into a level set function-based expression,which is integrated into the level set topology optimization problem as a constraint.Therefore,by properly developing the sensitivity result,the metallic additive manufocturing part can be optimized with strictly constrained manufacturing cost.Effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proved by numerical design examples. 展开更多

制造业是台湾对外直接投资的主要产业。基于两岸关系背景,利用1991—2016年台湾制造业对外直接投资数据,将台商制造业细分成劳动密集型产业、资金密集型产业和技术密集型产业,分析台商制造业对外直接投资时空格局演化特征,并采用面板数... 制造业是台湾对外直接投资的主要产业。基于两岸关系背景,利用1991—2016年台湾制造业对外直接投资数据,将台商制造业细分成劳动密集型产业、资金密集型产业和技术密集型产业,分析台商制造业对外直接投资时空格局演化特征,并采用面板数据模型GLS征:①投资金额呈不断上升趋势,投资行业结构阶段变化明显,1991—1997年以劳动密集型和资金密集型产业并重,1998—2016年以技术密集型产业为主;②投资金额的地域分布呈高度不均衡状态,形成以大陆地区为核心的单集聚中心格局;③不同阶段台湾不同类型制造业对外投资的影响因素有所差异,两岸关系对台湾制造业对外直接投资的影响尤为显著。 展开更多

在中国当前大企业缺失的现实背景下,高房价是否是抑制制造业企业成长的重要因素?为此,本文利用制造业微观企业数据,考察了房价上涨对企业成长率的影响,并基于工具变量、影响机制和异质性检验方面考察了本文研究结论的稳健性。研究发现,... 在中国当前大企业缺失的现实背景下,高房价是否是抑制制造业企业成长的重要因素?为此,本文利用制造业微观企业数据,考察了房价上涨对企业成长率的影响,并基于工具变量、影响机制和异质性检验方面考察了本文研究结论的稳健性。研究发现,中国的高房价对于制造业企业成长产生了明显的负面作用,其通过降低企业的利润率、总利润和总产出规模阻碍了企业成长,且对于低技术行业、私营企业和西部地区企业作用更大。因此,本文研究表明,长期内为培育更多具有市场竞争力的大型制造业企业,政府应有效控制过高的房价水平,为中国大型制造业企业成长提供适宜的外部环境。 展开更多

Flexible electronics have received considerable attention in academies and industries for their promising applications in enormous fields, such as flexible displays, wearable sensors, artificial skins, and flexible energy devices. Challenges remain in developing a flexible and scalable manufacturing method to facilitate the fabrication of multi-functional structures in a flexible electronic system. Nanoimprint lithography is a high resolution and low-cost approach to fabricate nanostructures over a large area. This paper reviews recent progress of nanoimprint lithography and its applications in flexible electronics. The basic principles, classification, research focus, and critical issues of nanoimprint lithography are elaborated. Then, the advantages of nanoimprint lithography are demonstrated in several typical applications related to flexible electronics, including conductive films, optoelectronic devices, flexible sensors, energy harvesting and storage devices, and bioinspired electronic devices. Finally,the challenges and perspectives of nanoimprint lithography in flexible electronic systems are discussed. 展开更多

适应制造业与生产性服务业分工协作发展的趋势,科学评估制造业的生产性服务供给结构与效率,是深化制造业及服务业供给侧改革亟待解决的问题。基于2002-2012年投入产出数据,运用投入产出子系统模型和敏感度分析,评估中国制造业的生产性... 适应制造业与生产性服务业分工协作发展的趋势,科学评估制造业的生产性服务供给结构与效率,是深化制造业及服务业供给侧改革亟待解决的问题。基于2002-2012年投入产出数据,运用投入产出子系统模型和敏感度分析,评估中国制造业的生产性服务供给。结果表明:数量上,中国制造业的生产性服务供给数量虽显著提升,但相较于发达国家仍有待提高;结构上,生产性服务供给结构单一,信息技术等新兴服务供给不足;效应方面,不论是直接效应还是间接效应,传统生产性服务供给效率日渐式微,新兴生产性服务供给效率普遍需要提升。因此,需进一步促进生产性服务特别是新兴生产性服务的有效供给,以培育制造业对服务的多样化、高端化需求,引导生产性服务供给向产出效率更高的高端制造领域流动,并且为生产性服务市场发展营造良好的公平竞争环境,降低服务供给成本,提高服务供给能力。 展开更多
