Primary objective of automobile seats is to offer adequate level of safety and comfort to the seated human occupant, primarily against vibration. Ideally, any sort of automotive seat is constructed by mechanical framework, cushion, backrest and headrest. The frame structures are made of metallic alloys, while the cushion, backrest and headrest are made of polyurethane foam material. During the design phase of automotive seat, the greatest challenge is to assign realistic material properties to foam material;as it is non-linear in nature and exhibit hysteresis at low level stress. In this research paper, a car seat has been modelled in finite element environment by implementing both hyperelastic and viscoelastic material properties to polyurethane foam. The car seat has been excited with the loads due to car acceleration and human object and the effects of vibration in terms of vertical acceleration at different locations have been measured. The aims of this simulation study are to establish a car seat with the foam material properties as accurately as possible and provide a finite element set up of car seat to monitor the vertical acceleration responses in a reasonable way. The RMS acceleration values for headrest, backrest and cushion have been found to be 0.91 mm/sec2, 0.54 mm/sec2 and 0.47 mm/sec2, respectively, which showed that the car seat foam can effectively be modelled through combined hyperelastic and viscoelastic material formulations. The simulation outputs have been validated through real life testing data, which clearly indicates that this computerized simulation technique is capable of anticipating the acceleration responses at different car seat segments in a justified way. 展开更多

In this sense, there are several problems in relation to this heat transport. The model of plasma confinement by magnetic force, in the nuclear fusion (sterellator and tokamak), has only been 20 years and recently some success in the quality of the generated plasma has been achieved. However, due to the large amount of energy coming from the plasma, the choice of the material that will carry the generated energy is quite troublesome, due to the need to handle a very high temperature for the nuclear fission standards. Solutions are explored by the scientific community to transport the energy generated in the case of the primary circuit, after exceeding breakeven temperature and models that are based on the fission reactors of the fourth generation and those currently in operation, to search for solutions regarding the transport of heat generated for the generation of electric energy. Several materials such as pressurized water, sodium, helium and boron have been considered and studied to form the primary heat transfer circuit for the exchanger. A thorough analysis of these materials is necessary. This research looked at some of these materials for heat transport and power generation. Lithium and helium were found to be the probable materials for conveying heat and cooling in the blanket. The results show that research on blanket materials needs more attention. The quality of these materials needs to be improved by material research, with the ODS EUROFER alloy and other research to reduce material erosion by helium nano bubbles. Plasma quality needs to be improved to keep constant and free of impurities when using lithium in liquid form. 展开更多

Venter was produced by DNA (the genome) also raises the question of whether the basic ideas behind modern genetics (germplasm = the hereditary material of the germ cells = genes) are true. In theory, however, whether genes can produce cells (including traits) should depend on Mendel’s assumptions regarding genes and not on what people can argue or discuss at will. Consequently, the author studied Mendel’s assumptions again. It turns out, unexpectedly, that the gene refers to a hereditary element controlling the specifications of the individual rather than the producer of the individual. That is to say, the gene is a facilitator, and the acceptor produces the individual by following the specifications set by the gene. This is the most significant genetics-related discovery since Mendel’s death, Scientific facts, including Avery’s experiment, consistently proved that this is true. 展开更多

In this study, we have focused our investigations on effect of adding hydrated lime on a locally made composite material, based on clayey earth (soil) and Hibiscus sabdariffa fibres, for envelope (walls) in the building. Prior to sample’s formulation, we selected an appropriate mineral (soil) material based on criteria as: plasticizer power for good workability, dense coarse particles to withstand loads and finally porous structure to take advantage of air insulating character. We then formulated, following a mixing process by shearing and compaction by vibration that we recommend, two composite materials (A), (B) which contain respectively 1% Fibres plus 1% lime, 1% Fibres plus 3% lime. We determined thermal properties by the mean of KD2 Pro thermal analyzer, compression strength accordingly to the standard NF P 18-406, porosity following volumetric and gravimetric methods and pH of soil-hydrated lime solution. As results, up to 5% of hydrated lime, the measured pH is inferior to 12: mineralization of vegetal fibres is highly unlikely. Moreover, we observe that the addition of hydrated lime resulted in a reduction in the number of cracks and their depths;Samples (A) and (B) have a rather compact appearance than the case 1% Fibres without lime (material (C)). Furthermore, with lime stabilization, the insulating potential is improved while the thermal inertia has been deteriorated compared to material (C). However, compressive strength decreases with lime, which could be due to the presence of fibres that would inhibit the hardening of the lime. At last, with 3.39% ± 3.07% MPa, 2.27% ± 11.30% MPa for samples (A), (B) respectively, the minimum required by CRATerre-EAG (guide of CDI, 1996) for construction of envelope (walls) of single storey (ground floor) buildings is met. 展开更多

In this technique, rock that is potential in producing acidity (PAF) will be placed below non-acid producing rock (NAF). Depends on NAF availability in the mine site situation, organic covers can be used to prevent diffusion of oxygen into reactive sulphide wastes and subsequently to eliminate sulphide compounds oxidation and generation of acidic waters. The utilization of additional material cover layer is proposed, by using fly ash and organic material combination. To investigate the possibility of using these materials, a column leaching test in the laboratory scale was conducted with several scenarios of simulation. By comparing between column with different thickness of fly ash and organic material, the leachate water behavior is observed in the experiment, including the measurement of water quality (pH and EC), major cations-anions. The result suggests the possible thickness of fly ash (FA) and organic material (OM) as cover layer material, especially in the case of mine with domination of PAF rock material. 展开更多

背景:前期研究制备了不同配比的煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料,体外细胞实验显示该复合材料安全无毒。目的:观察煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料对成骨细胞增殖与黏附的影响。方法:采用溶液共混法制备煅烧骨与壳聚糖质量比分别为1/2、1/1、2/1的复合材料... 背景:前期研究制备了不同配比的煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料,体外细胞实验显示该复合材料安全无毒。目的:观察煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料对成骨细胞增殖与黏附的影响。方法:采用溶液共混法制备煅烧骨与壳聚糖质量比分别为1/2、1/1、2/1的复合材料,将新生大鼠成骨细胞分别接种于3种复合材料上,以单独培养的细胞为对照。采用CCK-8法检测细胞增殖情况,DAPI荧光染色观察细胞在材料上的生长情况,扫描电镜观察细胞在复合材料表面的黏附。结果与结论:①CCK-8检测显示4组成骨细胞增殖良好,在培养的第1-3天增殖较慢,第3天后增殖加快,第3-7天进入对数生长期,第7天后进入平台期,复合材料组细胞增殖与对照组无差异;②培养3 d后的DAPI荧光染色显示,成骨细胞在3种复合材料表面生长良好,组间无明显差异;③扫描电镜显示,培养3d后成骨细胞紧密黏附于3种复合材料表面,伸展完全,胞体丰满并伸出伪足嵌入材料内部;培养7d后细胞铺满材料表面,生长密集,其中质量比为2/1煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料表面的细胞最密集;④结果表明,成骨细胞可在煅烧骨/壳聚糖复合材料表面增殖与黏附。 展开更多

The evolution of energy in subaerial and subaqueous granular column collapses is studied.Employing the refractive index matching method and planar laser-induced fluorescence technique,we obtain granular and liquid images simultaneously in a single experiment of subaqueous flow.Particle image velocimetry and particle tracking velocimetry are used to process the data for the fluid and granular phase.We find stepwise decreases in the total kinetic energy of the granular material.The stage of rapidly falling energy corresponds to large transverse changes in the direction of the massive granular particles.Moreover,in this stage,a major fraction of the granular kinetic energy transferred from the granular potential energy is lost or transferred.Interestingly,compared with dry granular flow,the existence of an ambient liquid seems to reduce the total dissipated energy,which may be the reason why previous studies observed similar granular runout distances in subaqueous and dry granular collapses. 展开更多
