We propose a novel problem revolving around two tasks:(i)given a scene,recommend objects to insert,and(ii)given an object category,retrieve suitable background scenes.A bounding box for the inserted object is predicted in both tasks,which helps downstream applications such as semiautomated advertising and video composition.The major challenge lies in the fact that the target object is neither present nor localized in the input,and furthermore,available datasets only provide scenes with existing objects.To tackle this problem,we build an unsupervised algorithm based on object-level contexts,which explicitly models the joint probability distribution of object categories and bounding boxes using a Gaussian mixture model.Experiments on our own annotated test set demonstrate that our system outperforms existing baselines on all sub-tasks,and does so using a unified framework.Future extensions and applications are suggested. 展开更多

新时代的方法论需要在“中西学术对话”研究语境中予以锁定。研究表明,新中国70年经济史学的方法论要求以“对象·研究对象·知识”整体工作链条揭示历史生长和逻辑运动,最后给出“有机知识”的概念和定义。从学理上看,政治经... 新时代的方法论需要在“中西学术对话”研究语境中予以锁定。研究表明,新中国70年经济史学的方法论要求以“对象·研究对象·知识”整体工作链条揭示历史生长和逻辑运动,最后给出“有机知识”的概念和定义。从学理上看,政治经济学方法论的时代重建是对“解构行动”的引领和超越。依据这一路径的科学抽象法在工作内涵和表达形式上,必须努力跳出既有“教科书体系”束缚,在思维与语言上赋予鲜明的民族历史特征和丰富的时代规定。一是以中华思维学统领逻辑学和知识论,赋予“科学构图”以历史、实践和文化的含义;二是强调研究和叙述的“体用合一”以及“抽象和具体合一”,在互为内容和形式的意义上运用“中华(辩证法)抽象力”与“马克思(主义)抽象力”;三是坚持以“批判的逻辑学”工作拒绝资产阶级“体系的解释学”,立足“活的辩证法(规定)”实现对历史规律的辩证表述与知识图型化,如坚持以“历史唯物主义论的科学抽象法”命名基本矛盾(矛盾规律的“抽象”)和主要矛盾(矛盾规律的“具体”)。它内生中国化的马克思主义经济学方法论(规定),启发这样的机理路径:中国经济学(学科规范)→中国政治经济学(方法论规范和科学规范)→中国特色社会主义政治经济学(理论规范),使“政治经济学批判”内在于方法论进程中的每一环节,从而使具有原创内涵和实践化的中国社会主义经济理论得以批判性地建立与考察。 展开更多

Accumulating evidence indicates that inhalation anesthetics induce or increase the risk of cognitive impairment.GLYX-13(rapastinel)acts on the glycine site of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors(NMDARs)and has been shown to enhance hippocampus-dependent learning and memory function.However,the mechanisms by which GLYX-13 affects learning and memory function are still unclear.In this study,we investigated these mechanisms in a mouse model of long-term anesthesia exposure.Mice were intravenously administered 1 mg/kg GLYX-13 at 2 hours before isoflurane exposure(1.5%for 6 hours).Cognitive function was assessed using the contextual fear conditioning test and the novel object recognition test.The mRNA expression and phosphorylated protein levels of NMDAR pathway components,N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit 2B(NR2B)-Ca^2+/calmodulin dependent protein kinaseⅡ(CaMKII)-cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein(CREB),in the hippocampus were evaluated by quantitative RT-PCR and western blot assay.Pretreatment with GLYX-13 ameliorated isoflurane exposure-induced cognitive impairment and restored NR2B,CaMKII and CREB mRNA and phosphorylated protein levels.Intracerebroventricular injection of KN93,a selective CaMKII inhibitor,significantly diminished the effect of GLYX-13 on cognitive function and NR2B,CaMKII and CREB levels in the hippocampus.Taken together,our findings suggest that GLYX-13 pretreatment alleviates isoflurane-induced cognitive dysfunction by protecting against perturbation of the NR2B/CaMKII/CREB signaling pathway in the hippocampus.Therefore,GLYX-13 may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of anesthesia-induced cognitive dysfunction.This study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Drum Tower Hospital affiliated to the Medical College of Nanjing University,China(approval No.20171102)on November 20,2017. 展开更多

Grain number is crucial for analysis of yield components and assessment of effects of cultivation measures.The grain number per spike and thousand-grain weight can be measured by counting grains manually,but it is time-consuming,tedious and error-prone.Previous image processing algorithms cannot work well with different backgrounds and different sizes.This study used deep learning methods to resolve the limitations of traditional image processing algorithms.Wheat grain image datasets were collected in the scenarios of three varieties,six background and two image acquisition devices with different heights,angles and grain numbers,1748 images in total.All images were processed through color space conversion,image flipping and rotation.The grain was manually annotated,and the datasets were divided into training set,validation set and test set.We used the TensorFlow framework to construct the Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network Model.Using the transfer learning method,we optimized the wheat grain detection and enumeration model.The total loss of the model was less than 0.5 and the mean average precision was 0.91.Compared with previous grain counting algorithms,the grain counting error rate of this model was less than 3%and the running time was less than 2 s.The model can be effectively applied under a variety of backgrounds,image sizes,grain sizes,shooting angles,and shooting heights,as well as different levels of grain crowding.It constitutes an effective detection and enumeration tool for wheat grain.This study provides a reference for further grain testing and enumeration applications. 展开更多

In order to accomplish the task of object recognition in natural scenes,a new object recognition algorithm based on an improved convolutional neural network(CNN)is proposed.First,candidate object windows are extracted from the original image.Then,candidate object windows are input into the improved CNN model to obtain deep features.Finally,the deep features are input into the Softmax and the confidence scores of classes are obtained.The candidate object window with the highest confidence score is selected as the object recognition result.Based on AlexNet,Inception V1 is introduced into the improved CNN and the fully connected layer is replaced by the average pooling layer,which widens the network and deepens the network at the same time.Experimental results show that the improved object recognition algorithm can obtain better recognition results in multiple natural scene images,and has a higher degree of accuracy than the classical algorithms in the field of object recognition. 展开更多

This paper focuses on multi-modal Information Perception(IP)for Soft Robotic Hands(SRHs)using Machine Learning(ML)algorithms.A flexible Optical Fiber-based Curvature Sensor(OFCS)is fabricated,consisting of a Light-Emitting Diode(LED),photosensitive detector,and optical fiber.Bending the roughened optical fiber generates lower light intensity,which reflecting the curvature of the soft finger.Together with the curvature and pressure information,multi-modal IP is performed to improve the recognition accuracy.Recognitions of gesture,object shape,size,and weight are implemented with multiple ML approaches,including the Supervised Learning Algorithms(SLAs)of K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Logistic Regression(LR),and the unSupervised Learning Algorithm(un-SLA)of K-Means Clustering(KMC).Moreover,Optical Sensor Information(OSI),Pressure Sensor Information(PSI),and Double-Sensor Information(DSI)are adopted to compare the recognition accuracies.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed sensors and recognition approaches are feasible and effective.The recognition accuracies obtained using the above ML algorithms and three modes of sensor information are higer than 85 percent for almost all combinations.Moreover,DSI is more accurate when compared to single modal sensor information and the KNN algorithm with a DSI outperforms the other combinations in recognition accuracy. 展开更多

In order to improve the low positioning accuracy and execution efficiency of the robot binocular vision,a binocular vision positioning method based on coarse-fine stereo matching is proposed to achieve object positioning.The random fern is used in the coarse matching to identify objects in the left and right images,and the pixel coordinates of the object center points in the two images are calculated to complete the center matching.In the fine matching,the right center point is viewed as an estimated value to set the search range of the right image,in which the region matching is implemented to find the best matched point of the left center point.Then,the similar triangle principle of the binocular vision model is used to calculate the 3D coordinates of the center point,achieving fast and accurate object positioning.Finally,the proposed method is applied to the object scene images and the robotic arm grasping platform.The experimental results show that the average absolute positioning error and average relative positioning error of the proposed method are 8.22 mm and 1.96%respectively when the object's depth distance is within 600 mm,the time consumption is less than 1.029s.The method can meet the needs of the robot grasping system,and has better accuracy and robustness. 展开更多

A type of scalable self-imaging capable of variable magnification or minification of periodic objects is demonstrated in the focal plane of a lens illuminated by a point source.The theory and the experimental results show that the self-imaging phenomenon can also be realized in the focal plane of a lens regardless of whether the distances satisfy the lens formula or not.The particular property of this scalable self-imaging effect is that the images in the focal plane can be controlled with different scaling factors only when the distances between the point source and the periodic object satisfy a certain condition.This discovery should open a new field of diffraction imaging and new application opportunities in precision measurement. 展开更多

Scientific applications at exascale generate and analyze massive amounts of data.A critical requirement of these applications is the capability to access and manage this data efficiently on exascale systems.Parallel I/O,the key technology enables moving data between compute nodes and storage,faces monumental challenges from new applications,memory,and storage architectures considered in the designs of exascale systems.As the storage hierarchy is expanding to include node-local persistent memory,burst buffers,etc.,as well as disk-based storage,data movement among these layers must be efficient.Parallel I/O libraries of the future should be capable of handling file sizes of many terabytes and beyond.In this paper,we describe new capabilities we have developed in Hierarchical Data Format version 5(HDF5),the most popular parallel I/O library for scientific applications.HDF5 is one of the most used libraries at the leadership computing facilities for performing parallel I/O on existing HPC systems.The state-of-the-art features we describe include:Virtual Object Layer(VOL),Data Elevator,asynchronous I/O,full-featured single-writer and multiple-reader(Full SWMR),and parallel querying.In this paper,we introduce these features,their implementations,and the performance and feature benefits to applications and other libraries. 展开更多
