Different dietary methionine to lysine ratios in the lactation diet:effects on the performance of sows and their offspring and methionine metabolism in lactating sows 认领

Background:Over the last decade,the nutritional requirements of lactating modern genotype sows have increased.The current nutritional recommendations might be unable to meet the needs of increased litter size and milk production,and thus the nutritional requirements need to be re-evaluated.The current study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary methionine to lysine(Met:Lys)ratios on the performance of and methionine metabolism in lactating sows.Results:During the 1st week of lactation,piglets reared on sows in the 0.37 to 0.57 Met:Lys ratio groups grew faster than those reared on sows in the control group(0.27)(P<0.01).The 0.37-ratio group showed increased levels of GSHPx in plasma during lactation(P<0.01)and decreased concentrations of urea nitrogen in the plasma of sows(P<0.05).Compared with the 0.27-ratio group,the levels of T-AOC and GSH-Px in the plasma and homocysteine in the milk of lactating sows were significantly increased in sows in the 0.47-ratio group(P<0.01).In sows fed a 0.57-ratio diet,the levels of glutathione and taurine in the plasma and milk were improved significantly during lactation.However,the content of TBARS in the blood(P<0.05 at day 7 and P=0.06 at weaning day)was increased(P<0.01).Moreover,there were linear increases in the levels of homocysteine in the blood and milk of sows during the lactation period(P<0.01)with increased dietary Met:Lys ratios in the lactation diet.Conclusions:The current study indicated that increasing the dietary Met:Lys ratio(0.37~0.57)in the lactation diet had no significant effect on the overall performance of sows or the colostrum and milk composition,but it increased piglet mean BW and piglet ADG during the first week of lactation.Increasing dietary methionine levels had no significant effect on antioxidant function in lactation sows,even though it increased levels of GSH and GSH-Px in the plasma of sows during lactation.However,the content of homocysteine in the plasma and milk increased during lactation due to a high level of dietary methion 展开更多

Effect of Supplemental Calcium Levels on Feedlot Growth Performance and Dietary Net Energy Utilization during the Receiving Feeding Period of Calf-Fed Holstein Steers 认领

Ninety-six calf-fed Holstein steer (127 kg) were used to evaluate the influence of supplemental dietary calcium (Ca) on growth-performance, and dietary net energy (NE) utilization during the initial 112-d of receiving period. Treatments consisted of steam flake corn-based growing-finishing diets supplemented with limestone to achieve 0.60%, 0.70%, 0.80%, or 0.90% dietary Ca (DM basis). Morbidity was low (6.3%) and it was not affected (P > 0.87) by dietary treatments. During the initial 84-d period (181 kg average BW), increasing dietary Ca did not influence (P > 0.10) DMI, ADG, gain efficiency or observed/expected DMI. Observed DMI was 19% greater than expected based on diet formulation and growth. Estimated metabolizable protein and methionine supply during the initial 84-d period averaged 92% and 79% of the required, respectively. The apparent decrease in efficiency of energy utilization in the present study is in close agreement with previous studies involving calf-fed Holstein steers in the early growing phase fed conventional growing-finishing diet that is otherwise deficient in metabolizable amino acids. Thus, it is considered that the anticipated growth-performance responses to dietary Ca treatments may have been masked by expected inefficiencies due to metabolizable amino acid deficiency. During the final 28-d period (256 kg of average BW), increasing supplemental Ca reduced feed intake (linear effect, P = 0.04) and enhanced gain efficiency (linear effect, P = 0.03). During this period, predicted ([1] Level 1) metabolizable protein and methionine supply were 110% and 94% of the required, respectively. Nevertheless, improvements in gain efficiency during the final 28-d period with increasing levels of supplemental Ca were not sufficient to influence (P > 0.10) overall 112-d growth-performance. It is concluded dietary Ca requirements of calf-fed Holstein steers during the initial 112-d feeding period appear to be secondary to deficiencies of conventional steam-flaked corn-based diets in meeting metabolizabl 展开更多

This paper was conducted to monitor the effect of mixed essential oils (AROMIX&#64;) as phytogenic extract herbs administration in drinking water on growth performance, hematological, biochemical, immunological statuses and carcass traits of broiler chickens. A total number of 240 unsexed broiler chicks (Cobb-500) strain, were randomly divided to four equal groups, 60 chicks each at seven days of age. The first group drank tap water (control), the second, third and fourth group were drank the same water, adding 1 ml AROMIX&#64;per 5, 10 and 15 liter tap water, respectively for 5 week of age. It was cleared from the results that there was a significant improve in feed conversion ratio, red and white blood cell counts, total protein, albumin, globulin, calcium, inorganic phosphorus and a relative reduction in the liver enzymes but in the normal range. However, it was observed that mix essential oils have no significant impact on carcass organs. High levels of the vital parameters, low levels of hepatic enzymes showed that birds health was good and relative improvement in immune system. The relative improvement of the absorption of minerals such as calcium and inorganic phosphorus to the positive role of essential oils. Administration in drank water was occasion, a regular activity of hepatic enzymes which can evidence safety and hepato-protective nature of these oils. Therefore, it is cleared from the results that the addition of these extract herbs in drinking water enhances the health meat, performance and physiological status of broiler chicks, which helps to obtain healthy meat and suitable for human consumption. 展开更多

It is hard for applications to make full utilization of the peak bandwidth of the storage system in highperformance computers because of I/O interferences,storage resource misallocations and complex long I/O paths.We performed several studies to bridge this gap in the Sunway storage system,which serves the supercomputer Sunway TaihuLight.To locate these issues and connections between them,an end-to-end performance monitoring and diagnosis tool was developed to understand I/O behaviors of applications and the system.With the help of the tool,we were about to find out the root causes of such performance barriers at the I/O forwarding layer and the parallel file system layer.An application-aware I/O forwarding allocation framework was used to address the I/O interferences and resource misallocations at the I/O forwarding layer.A performance-aware data placement mechanism was proposed to mitigate the impact of I/O interferences and performance variations of storage devices in the PFS.Together,applications obtained much better I/O performance.During the process,we also proposed a lightweight storage stack to shorten the I/O path of applications with N-N I/O pattern.This paper summarizes these studies and presents the lessons learned from the process. 展开更多

This study was conducted to assess production performance of chicken under farmers’ management and their roles in the household economy of local and exotic chickens reared at Yirgalem and Hawassa towns of Southern Ethiopia. Purposive sampling method was used for selecting the respondents. Totally, 180 respondents were selected based on their experience in chicken production. The study indicates that the average number of eggs set for incubation was 10.05 &plusmn;0.81 of which the hatchability was 8.42 &plusmn;1.19 eggs. The age at first egg laying for the native chickens raised at Hawassa and Yirgalem towns was 6.31 &plusmn;0.53 and 6.10 &plusmn;0.30 months respectively with differences recorded both within and between the locations. The age at first egg laying of the Sasso hens was 5.24 &plusmn;0.43 months while the age at first egg lay for Bovans was 5.37 &plusmn;0.49 months. The difference was observed (P 【0.05) across the studied locations. The values were lower when compared to those of the native chickens. It was also observed that the contributions of the exotic chickens to the livelihood and food security of the rearers were insignificant. It was concluded from this study that the exotic chickens in the study areas performed fairly well and could do so further if they are provided with better health care, scientific nutrition and management. 展开更多

Daylight is a fundamental element to obtain built environments that promote environmental comfort and energy efficiency. However, strategies that enhance the building daylight performance can affect its thermal energetic performance. In this sense, research that addresses these aspects at the same time is considered essential. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the daylighting and thermal-energetic performance of administrative environments in a public institution, and to propose strategies that will enhance the use of daylight and lower energy consumption. Therefore, for future projects, and considering new buildings, and retrofit, this research will be an important reference. The research was developed through a case study of an administrative building model, in which the characteristics of solar orientation, light shelf use, glass type, and light and dark colors in walls were modified and combined, deriving it into models proposed. The daylighting performance evaluations were performed through dynamic simulation with the Rhinoceros for Diva software, and the thermal-energetic performance evaluations with the EnergyPlus software. The results of the work showed that a suitable solar orientation has a great impact on the automation of daylight and the energy consumption of the evaluated models, followed by the type of glass and the use of the light colors in internal walls, and that the use of artificial lighting with dimerization is fundamental as a complement to the daylight autonomy. For the boundary conditions of the study, the use of light shelves modified neither the daylight performance nor the thermal-energetic performance of the evaluated models. 展开更多

With the continuous scaling in conventional CMOS technologies,the planar MOSFET device is limited by the severe short-channel-effect(SCE),Multi-gate FETs(MuG-FET)such as FinFETs and Nanowire,Nanosheet devices have emerged as the most promising candidates to extend the CMOS scaling beyond sub-22 nm node.The multi-gate structure has better short channel behaviors due to enhanced control from the multiple gates.Due to the relatively more mature process and rich learning of the device physics,the FinFET is still extended to 5 nm technology node.In this paper,we proposed a 5 nm FINFET device,which is based on typical 5 nm logic design rules.To achieve the challenging device performance target,which is around 15%speed gain or 25%power reduction against the 7 nm device,we have performed an optimization on the process parameters and iterate through device simulation with the consideration of current process capability.Based on our preferred device architecture,we provide our brief process flow,key dimensions,and simulated device DC/AC performance,like Vt,Idsat,SS,DIBL and parasitic parameters.As a part of the final evaluation,RO simulation result has been checked,which demonstrates that the Performance Per Area(PPA)is close to industry reference 5 nm performance. 展开更多

Performance variability,stemming from nondeterministic hardware and software behaviors or deterministic behaviors such as measurement bias,is a well-known phenomenon of computer systems which increases the difficulty of comparing computer performance metrics and is slated to become even more of a concern as interest in Big Data analytic increases.Conventional methods use various measures(such as geometric mean)to quantify the performance of different benchmarks to compare computers without considering this variability which may lead to wrong conclusions.In this paper,we propose three resampling methods for performance evaluation and comparison:a randomization test for a general performance comparison between two computers,bootstrapping confidence estimation,and an empirical distribution and five-number-summary for performance evaluation.The results show that for both PARSEC and highvariance BigDataBench benchmarks 1)the randomization test substantially improves our chance to identify the difference between performance comparisons when the difference is not large;2)bootstrapping confidence estimation provides an accurate confidence interval for the performance comparison measure(e.g.,ratio of geometric means);and 3)when the difference is very small,a single test is often not enough to reveal the nature of the computer performance due to the variability of computer systems.We further propose using empirical distribution to evaluate computer performance and a five-number-summary to summarize computer performance.We use published SPEC 2006 results to investigate the sources of performance variation by predicting performance and relative variation for 8,236 machines.We achieve a correlation of predicted performances of 0.992 and a correlation of predicted and measured relative variation of 0.5.Finally,we propose the utilization of a novel biplotting technique to visualize the effectiveness of benchmarks and cluster machines by behavior.We illustrate the results and conclusion through detailed Monte Carlo simulation st 展开更多

本试验旨在研究饲粮中添加复合酶制剂(主要成分为蛋白酶、木聚糖酶、纤维素酶、甘露聚糖酶、α-淀粉酶和普罗兰酶)对伊犁鹅生产性能、血清生化指标及盲肠内容物代谢组的影响。试验选取健康状况良好、体重相近的4岁伊犁鹅200只,随机分为4... 本试验旨在研究饲粮中添加复合酶制剂(主要成分为蛋白酶、木聚糖酶、纤维素酶、甘露聚糖酶、α-淀粉酶和普罗兰酶)对伊犁鹅生产性能、血清生化指标及盲肠内容物代谢组的影响。试验选取健康状况良好、体重相近的4岁伊犁鹅200只,随机分为4组,每组10个重复,每个重复5只伊犁鹅(1公4母)。对照组饲喂玉米-豆粕型饲粮,试验Ⅰ、Ⅱ和Ⅲ组在对照组饲粮的基础上分别添加0.2、0.3和0.4 g/kg的复合酶制剂。预试期7 d,正试期38 d。结果显示:1)在生产性能方面,与对照组相比,试验Ⅱ组的产蛋率提高25.78%(P<0.05),料蛋比降低21.72%(P<0.05)。2)在血清生化指标方面,与对照组相比,试验Ⅱ组的总蛋白和球蛋白含量分别提高21.51%(P<0.05)、30.61%(P<0.05);试验Ⅰ、Ⅱ和Ⅲ组的谷草转氨酶活性分别提高69.85%(P<0.05)、41.26%(P<0.05)和49.02%(P<0.05),谷丙转氨酶活性分别提高34.78%(P<0.05)、33.78%(P<0.05)和40.80%(P<0.05);试验Ⅰ、Ⅱ和Ⅲ组的葡萄糖含量分别提高55.61%(P<0.01)、55.81%(P<0.01)和38.02%(P<0.01);试验Ⅱ组的总胆固醇含量降低15.97%(P<0.05);试验Ⅱ和Ⅲ组的低密度脂蛋白含量分别降低37.66%(P<0.05)和37.01%(P<0.05)。3)在盲肠内容物代谢组方面,对照组和复合酶制剂组(即试验Ⅱ组)共检测到5530种代谢物,筛选出21种差异代谢物,其中N-乙酰基-L-瓜氨酸、孕烯醇酮硫酸盐和L-瓜氨酸等12种代谢物的相对含量显著上调(P<0.05),N2-(D-1羧乙基)-L-赖氨酸、5-甲氧基吲哚乙酸酯和(R)-乳酸等9种代谢物的相对含量显著下调(P<0.05)。综上所述,在产蛋期伊犁鹅饲粮中添加0.3 g/kg复合酶制剂,可调控伊犁鹅血清中葡萄糖、总蛋白含量和蛋白质代谢相关酶活性,改善脂代谢能力,并可引起伊犁鹅体内21种代谢物及相关代谢途径发生显著变化,同时增强了伊犁鹅肠道的代谢活动,提高了营养物质利用率,从而提高了伊犁鹅的生产性能。 展开更多

The effects of weather conditions are ubiquitous in practical wireless quantum communication links.Here in this work,the performances of atmospheric continuous-variable measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution(CV-MDI-QKD)under diverse weather conditions are analyzed quantitatively.According to the Mie scattering theory and atmospheric CV-MDI-QKD model,we numerically simulate the relationship between performance of CV-MDI-QKD and the rainy and foggy conditions,aiming to get close to the actual combat environment in the future.The results show that both rain and fog will degrade the performance of the CV-MDI-QKD protocol.Under the rainy condition,the larger the raindrop diameter,the more obvious the extinction effect is and the lower the secret key rate accordingly.In addition,we find that the secret key rate decreases with the increase of spot deflection distance and the fluctuation of deflection.Under the foggy condition,the results illustrate that the transmittance decreases with the increase of droplet radius or deflection distance,which eventually yields the decrease in the secret key rate.Besides,in both weather conditions,the increase of transmission distance also leads the secret key rate to deteriorate.Our work can provide a foundation for evaluating the performance evaluation and successfully implementing the atmospheric CV-MDI-QKD in the future field operation environment under different weather conditions. 展开更多

The microstructure and performance of Li4Ti5O12 doped by Mg prepared by hydrothermal method and solid phase method were investigated. Lithium dihydrate, magnesium acetate and tetrabutyl titanate were used as the main raw materials. This study reveals that Mg^2+ has influences on the spherical structure, crystal development of Li4Ti5O12 and the electrochemical performances. The hollow spherical structure is composed of nano-sheet structure and the nano-sheet structure can be affected by the Mg^2+ content. For Li4-xMgxTi5 O12, the sheet structure can be refined with the increment of Mg^2+ content when x value is 0-0.1 and coarsen with the increment of Mg^2+ content when x value is 0.1-0.2. The hollow spherical Li4Ti5O12 powders prepared by hydrothermal method have better performance. The optimal Mgdoped amount of hydrothermal method is 0.1. At 0.1 C, the first discharge capacity of Li3.9Mg0.1Ti5O12 prepared through hydrothermal method at 0.1 C and 10 cycles is 182 and 178 mA hg^-1, respectively. 展开更多

为研究功能性添加剂对断奶仔猪生长性能、血清生化指标和免疫功能的影响,试验选用初始体重为(7.8±0.6)kg的杜洛克×长白×大白三元健康仔猪240头,随机分为4个处理,每个处理5个重复,每个重复12头猪。以基础饲粮为对照组,试... 为研究功能性添加剂对断奶仔猪生长性能、血清生化指标和免疫功能的影响,试验选用初始体重为(7.8±0.6)kg的杜洛克×长白×大白三元健康仔猪240头,随机分为4个处理,每个处理5个重复,每个重复12头猪。以基础饲粮为对照组,试验组饲粮分别补充啤酒酵母菌、碱性蛋白酶和枯草芽孢杆菌,添加量均为200 mg/kg。试验期为24 d。结果表明:(1)与对照组相比,饲粮中添加碱性蛋白酶组饲料增重比下降了4.94%(P<0.05),断奶仔猪血清葡萄糖、免疫球蛋白G(IgG)和球蛋白含量分别提高了10.43%、17.00%和15.15%(P<0.05);(2)与对照组相比,饲粮中分别添加碱性蛋白酶、啤酒酵母菌和枯草芽孢杆菌组断奶仔猪血清谷丙转氨酶活性分别提高47.91%、39.76%、43.54%(P<0.05);(3)与对照组相比,饲粮中补充枯草芽孢杆菌组断奶仔猪的血清尿素氮水平降低了22.02%(P<0.05)。综上所述,添加蛋白酶对断奶仔猪生长性能的改善程度优于枯草芽孢杆菌和啤酒酵母菌。 展开更多
