The petroleum system:a new classification scheme based on reservoir qualities

A new classification of petroleum systems(PSs) based on reservoir qualities is proposed. We classify PSs into the following three basic types:(1) source-rock petroleum system(SPS);(2) tight-reservoir or tight petroleum system(TPS);and(3) conventional-reservoir or conventional petroleum system(CPS). The CPS is a PS in which hydrocarbons accumulate in conventional reservoirs, and all the essential elements and processes are significant and indispensable. Oil and gas accumulations are geographically discrete and therefore exist as discontinuous accumulations. The TPS is a PS where hydrocarbons accumulate in tight reservoirs and the source rock, reservoir, seal, migration, and trap are also indispensable,but the traps are mostly non-anticlinal and the accumulations are primarily quasi-continuous and secondarily discontinuous. The SPS is a PS where both hydrocarbon generation and accumulation occurred in source rocks and traps and migration are unnecessary or inconsequential;the hydrocarbon distribution is extensive and continuous and has no distinct boundaries. The aforementioned three PSs can be derived from a common hydrocarbon source kitchen and are closely linked in terms of their formation and distribution. Therefore, to maximize the exploration efficiency, a comprehensive study and different strategies are needed by considering the SPS, TPS, and CPS as parts of a greater whole. 展开更多

In order to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of 6-MW wind turbine, experimental study on the aerodynamic characteristics of the model rotor system and on characterization of a wind generation system is carried out. In the test, a thrust-matched rotor system and a geometry-matched rotor system, which utilize redesigned thrustmatched and original geometry-matched blades, respectively, are applied. The 6-MW wind turbine system is introduced briefly. The proper scaling laws for model tests are established in the paper, which are then implemented in the construction of a model wind turbine with optimally designed blades. And the parameters of the model are provided. The aerodynamic characteristics of the proposed 6-MW wind rotor system are explored by testing a 1:65.3 scale model at the State Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Before carrying out the wind rotor system test, the turbulence intensity and spatial uniformity of the wind generation system are tested and results demonstrate that the characterization of the wind generation system is satisfied and the average turbulence intensity of less than 10% within the wind rotor plane is proved in the test. And then, the aerodynamic characteristics of 6-MW wind rotor system are investigated. The response characteristic differences between the thrust-matched rotor system and the geometry-matched rotor system are presented. Results indicate that the aerodynamic characteristics of 6-MW wind rotor with the thrust-matched rotor system are satisfied. The conclusion is that the thrust-matched rotor system can better reflect the characteristics of the prototype wind turbine. A set of model test method is proposed in the work and preparations for further model basin test of the 6-MW SPAR-type floating offshore wind turbine system are made. 展开更多

Even in the PNS, which has the principle ability to regenerate injured axons, functional recovery remains limited, particularly in cases where the nerve target has become unreceptive to re-innervation over time due to an insufficient axonal growth rate (Diekmann and Fischer, 2015). Progress towards robust neuroregenerative therapies depends upon an understanding of the relevant signaling and cytoskeletal proteins that drive and control axon extension. Muscle LIM protein (MLP), also known as cysteine and glycine-rich protein 3, was recently discovered to be one such protein that is expressed in regenerating rat neurons and whose overexpression can promote the axon regeneration of adult central, and peripheral neurons of different species (Levin et al., 2019). 展开更多

This paper considers the system identification problem for FIR(finite impulse response) systems with set-valued and precise observations received from multiple sensors. A fusion estimation algorithm based on some suitable identification algorithms for different types of observations is proposed. In particular, least square method is chosen for FIR systems with precise observations, while empirical measure method and EM algorithm are chosen for FIR systems with set-valued observations in the cases of periodic and general system inputs, respectively. Then, the quasi-convex combination estimator(QCCE) fusing the two different estimators by a linear combination with appropriate weights is constructed. Furthermore, the convergence properties are theoretically analyzed in terms of strong consistency and asymptotic efficiency. The fused estimator QCCE is proved to achieve the Cram′er-Rao(CR) lower bound asymptotically under periodic inputs. Extensive numerical simulations validate the superiority of the fusion estimation algorithm under both periodic and general inputs. 展开更多

Discrete Event System Framework for Fault Diagnosis with Measurement Inconsistency: Case Study of Rogue DHCP Attack 预览

Fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) facilitates reliable operation of systems. Various approaches have been proposed for FDD like Analytical redundancy (AR), Principal component analysis (PCA), Discrete event system (DES) model etc., in the literature. Performance of FDD schemes greatly depends on accuracy of the sensors which measure the system parameters. Due to various reasons like faults, communication errors etc., sensors may occasionally miss or report erroneous values of some system parameters to FDD engine, resulting in measurement inconsistency of these parameters. Schemes like AR, PCA etc., have mechanisms to handle measurement inconsistency, however, they are computationally heavy. DES based FDD techniques are widely used because of computational simplicity, but they cannot handle measurement inconsistency efficiently. Existing DES based schemes do not use Measurement inconsistent (MI) parameters for FDD. These parameters are not permanently unmeasurable or erroneous, so ignoring them may lead to weak diagnosis. To address this issue, we propose a Measurement inconsistent discrete event system (MIDES) framework, which uses MI parameters for FDD at the instances they are measured by the sensors. Otherwise, when they are unmeasurable or erroneously reported, the MIDES invokes an estimator diagnoser that predicts the state(s) the system is expected to be in, using the subsequent parameters measured by the other sensors. The efficacy of the proposed method is illustrated using a pumpvalve system. In addition, an MIDES based intrusion detection system has been developed for detection of rogue dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server attack by mapping the attack to a fault in the DES framework. 展开更多

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication of liver cirrhosis and is of the utmost clinical and prognostic relevance. Patients with cirrhosis, especially decompensated cirrhosis, are more prone to develop AKI than those without cirrhosis. The hepatorenal syndrome type of AKI (HRS–AKI), a spectrum of disorders in prerenal chronic liver disease, and acute tubular necrosis (ATN) are the two most common causes of AKI in patients with chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. Differentiating these conditions is essential due to the differences in treatment. Prerenal AKI, a more benign disorder, responds well to plasma volume expansion, while ATN requires more specific renal support and is associated with substantial mortality. HRS–AKI is a facet of these two conditions, which are characterized by a dysregulation of the immune response. Recently, there has been progress in better defining this clinical entity, and studies have begun to address optimal care. The present review synopsizes the current diagnostic criteria, pathophysiology, and treatment modalities of HRS–AKI and as well as AKI in other chronic liver diseases (non-HRS–AKI) so that early recognition of HRS–AKI and the appropriate management can be established. 展开更多

Firstly, some necessary and sufficient conditions are given to guarantee controllability and observability of such composite systems. Then we prove that the stability problem of such composite systems can be reduced to judging whether a fractional degree polynomial is stable. Finally, the stability analysis result is applied in the supervisory control of fractional-order multi-agent systems, and an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. 展开更多

Performance Improvement of NCSs Under Complex Network via Concurrent Paths

Different from the single paths between controllers and plants of networked control systems(NCSs), the complex network provides widespread links and brings plenty of paths from the controller side to the plant side. Benefit from this advantage, a novel data transmission dispatching strategy is proposed. When the direct path can not satisfy the condition of system demand, neither stability nor performance, some specified paths compose a concurrent-path to transmit the control signal concurrently. Firstly, the networked control systems(NCSs) are expressed by the switched systems model with the constant network-induced delay, and the network communication is described as a packet-loss process. Secondly, taking system’s exponential decay rate as its performance indicator, the relationship between control signal transmission paths and system performance is quantitatively given by considering packet losses as the compound poisson process and the alternating renewal process. Then, due to that different combination of paths induces the different statistical properties of packet losses, the approach to find an appropriate concurrent-path is proposed concerning two mutually constrained factors, the system performance demand and the utilization of network resources. After the theoretical analysis, a distributed communication platform based on peer-to-peer(P2P) network technology is designed and implemented to realize the concurrent-path transmission on internet. Finally, the practical experiment on the platform demonstrates the validity and effectiveness of proposed approach. 展开更多

Antibiotic resistance in aquatic environment has become an important pollution problem worldwide. In recent years, much attention was paid to antibiotic resistance in urban drinking water systems due to its close relationship with the biosafety of drinking water. This review was focused on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, as well as the presence, dissemination and removal of antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB) and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the urban drinking water system. First, the presence of ARB and ARGs in the drinking water source was discussed. The variation of concentration of ARGs and ARB during coagulation, sedimentation and filtration process were provided subsequently, in which filtration was proved to be a promising technology to remove ARGs. However, biological activated carbon (BAC) process and drinking water distribution systems (DWDSs) could be incubators which promote the antibiotic resistance, due to the enrichment of ARGs and ARB in the biofilms attached to the active carbon and pipe wall. Besides, as for disinfection process, mechanisms of the inactivation of ARB and the promotion of conjugative transfer of ARGs under chlorine, ozone and UV disinfection were described in detail. Here we provide some theoretical support for future researches which aim at antibiotic resistance controlling in drinking water. 展开更多

Reconciling the father tongue and mother tongue hypotheses in Indo-European populations

In opposition to the mother tongue hypothesis, the father tongue hypothesis states that humans tend to speak their fathers’ language, based on a stronger correlation of languages to paternal lineages(Y-chromosome) than to maternal lineages(mitochondria). To reassess these two competing hypotheses,we conducted a genetic–linguistic study of 34 modern Indo-European(IE) populations. In this study,genetic histories of paternal and maternal migrations in these IE populations were elucidated using phylogenetic networks of Y-chromosomal and mitochondrial DNA haplogroups, respectively. Unlike previous studies, we quantitatively characterized the languages based on lexical and phonemic systems separately. We showed that genetic and linguistic distances are significantly correlated with each other and that both are correlated with geographical distances among these populations. However, when controlling for geographical factors, only the correlation between the distances of paternal and lexical characteristics,and between those of maternal and phonemic characteristics, remained. These unbalanced correlations reconciled the two seemingly conflicting hypotheses. 展开更多

Therefore, the renewable energy dynamic test in a power system has become more and more important. Traditional dynamic simulation systems and digital-analog hybrid simulation systems are difficult to compromise on the economy, flexibility and accuracy. A multi-time scale test system of doubly fed induction generator based on FPGA+ CPU heterogeneous calculation is proposed in this paper. The proposed test system is based on the ADPSS simulation platform. The power circuit part of the test system is setup up using the EMT (electromagnetic transient simulation) simulation, and the control part uses the actual physical devices. In order to realize the close-loop testing for the physical devices, the power circuit must be simulated in real-time. This paper proposes a multi-time scale simulation algorithm, in which the decoupling comp on ent divides the power circuit into a large time scale system and a small time scale system in order to reduce computing effort. This paper also proposes the FPGA+CPU heterogeneous computing architecture for implementing this multitime scale simulation. In FPGA, there is a complete small time-scale EMT engine, which support the flexibly circuit modeling with any topology. Finally, the test system is connected to an DFIG controller based on Labview to verify the feasibility of the test system. 展开更多

In the era of Big Data,typical architecture of distributed real-time stream processing systems is the combination of Flume,Kafka,and Storm.As a kind of distributed message system,Kafka has the characteristics of horizontal scalability and high throughput,which is manly deployed in many areas in order to address the problem of speed mismatch between message producers and consumers.When using Kafka,we need to quickly receive data sent by producers.In addition,we need to send data to consumers quickly.Therefore,the performance of Kafka is of critical importance to the performance of the whole stream processing system.In this paper,we propose the improved design of real-time stream processing systems,and focus on improving the Kafka's data loading process.We use Kafka cat to transfer data from the source to Kafka topic directly,which can reduce the network transmission.We also utilize the memory file system to accelerate the process of data loading,which can address the bottleneck and performance problems caused by disk I/O.Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance,which show the superiority of our improved design. 展开更多

The method of stabilizing switched systems based on the optimal control is applied,with all modes unstable,for a typical example of the multi-agent system.First,the optimal control method for stabilizing switched systems is introduced.For this purpose,a switching table rule procedure is constructed.This procedure is inspired by the optimal control that identifies the optimal trajectory for the switched systems.In the next step,the stability of a multi-agent system is studied,considering different unstable connection topologies.Finally,the optimal control method is successfully applied to an aircraft team,as an example of the multi-agent systems.Simulation results evaluate and confirm the successful application of this method in the aircraft team example. 展开更多
