Urbanization is the shaping of space by modernity. The huge divide between urban and rural areas and the difference in population structure have contributed to the township-centered practical strategy of urbanization in China. The township is the urban spatial form with the shortest living radius for rural residents. As a relatively more affordable spatial form of identity conversion, it should become a key area for urbanization in China. Economically developed towns are spaces for the synchronic existence of a society for semi-acquaintances and a society of strangers, and the appropriate change and innovation of the corresponding governance model is inevitable. Based on the case study of X Town in J City, the social governance model of economically developed towns cannot imitate the prevailing "grid governance model" in large cities. It must respond to the situational needs of governance based on the "gridization+network" practice in a composite governance model, and promote effective society Governance.
